Ryan's room - There have been better nights

[Ryan Gabriel]

"First the school... then the WORLD!" Ryan said, trying to make his voice as megalomaniacal as he could.

[Veronica Glarette]

She laughed happily. If she was feeling at all upset about the power thing before, she likely didn't care anymore, leaning in to kiss him again, but stopping short just before she did. It was so risky. She didn't want to lose the memory of this night. Not because of her family, but because, like always, she had had a genuinely wonderful time with Ryan.

Ryan made a point of looking at her eyes first, then leaned in and kissed her where she was hesitant. He was... fairly sure that it was safe. And as someone who was supposed to train people with their powers, he knew a lot, right?

[Veronica Glarette]

She was definitely hesitant, worry clearly having a heavy weight on her shoulders. However, as before, she slowly slipped into the kiss more and the worry began to wash away. You can do this. Don't let it control you... She thought in the back of her mind. It wasn't long before she began to feel her power flicker again, but she tried to ignore it. Tried to push it away. Not yet...

She might be frustrated, then, by Ryan having enough presence of mind to break the kiss, staying just out of skin contact for a moment. "The only time I feel sure about anything lately is when I'm with you," he whispered.

[Veronica Glarette]

He may be able to see the very subtle purple color in her eyes, as if once again it had tried to push through, but apparently she hadn't said anything, likely thinking she could try to control it. His words made her smile softly as she answered softly, "Zen you know how I have been feeling lately as well when I am wis you. Eet is a beautiful feeling."

He smiled at that, settling in as close as he could to her without touching her, only partly watching her eyes to watch for the end of the purple glow. "I.." He hesitated. "I just don't want to mess this up. I finally feel like there's something going right."

[Veronica Glarette]

The purple tinge was still there, barely. "Zen eet will not be messed up. Simple as zat. I do not know about you, but I would do anysing to keep zis feeling going."

[Ryan Gabriel]

He nodded. "I know exactly what you mean," he said sincerely. Then he grinned. "Guess what, though."

[Veronica Glarette]

The purple had finally left her eyes. "Hm... Zee common answer to zat question is 'chicken butts', non?"

[Ryan Gabriel]

He smirked, leaning in and giving her a light, quick kiss. "I was going to say 'it's not going to stop,' but if chicken butts is where you want the conversation to go, that's fine," he joked.

[Veronica Glarette]

She laughed again, giving him a playful nudge. "Where else should zee conversation naturally go but chicken butts?" She right back. "Mais, I sincerely would be happy if zee feeling does indeed continue."

[Ryan Gabriel]

He grinned a bit more playfully. "Oh? So you have doubts?"

[Veronica Glarette]

"Now, I did not say zat, did I?" She smirked.

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Good. Then prepare to be sincerely happy," he said.

"Oh, and be ready to have the kids I teach start all kinds of rumors about us," he added thoughtfully.

[Veronica Glarette]

She gave a shrug. "Rumors are normal. Eet will be interesting to here what zey can come up wis, I must admit."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"I've kept them off of you so far," he chuckled. "That can't last forever. I'm already getting prodded for details by one starry-eyed girl. The rest won't be far behind once she gets on the scent."

[Veronica Glarette]

Veronica doesn't seem too concerned. "I am not worried about eet. Eet gives zem something to talk about, I suppose."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan had his own misgivings, but he'd err on the side of nothing being wrong. "Good. I'd hate for some little hellions to chase you off."

[Veronica Glarette]

She laughed. "Zey do not seem so bad, truly."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan thought back for a moment to some of the power control journals he'd had turned in to him the last year. "Yeah, they're all good kids," he said, lying through his teeth.

[Veronica Glarette]

"Zis being said, I do not sink you have anysing to worry about as far as me being chased away," she said with a wink.

[Ryan Gabriel]

He chuckled, shrugging. "I'd just catch you again anyway," he said with intentionally aggravating self-confidence.

[Veronica Glarette]

"Is zat so?" She asked teasingly. "I sink you mean you would *try*."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Are you saying you'd be that eager to get away?" he asked.

[Veronica Glarette]

"Off course not. But what is zee fun in sings if you do not have to try?"

[Ryan Gabriel]

"I do try. I just have confidence in my success, too," he teased. "I mean, we could test, if you want..."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Hm, you sink so? And just how would we do zis? I leave and play hard to get?"

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Well, the first thing we do is wait for a night when I'm not thinking at half speed," he admitted, chuckling slightly.

[Veronica Glarette]

She gives a nod, becoming serious again. "You alright?"

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Fine, fine. Just not feeling up to my normal standards. Which I hate."

[Veronica Glarette]

"Eet will get better, I promise."

[Ryan Gabriel]

"Oh, sure it will, I just don't trust my ability to be persuasive until it does," he teased.

[Veronica Glarette]

"Understandable," she said with a chuckle. "I imagine he is at zee same point right now, if not worse. Perhaps you actually knocked some sense back into his brain?"
