Common Room - Uncommonly Common

[Katerina Brezhnev]

Katerina collapsed onto one of the common room couches, giving it a moment's thought before the remote wrenched itself from between the cushions where some previous viewer had shoved it. It floated over to her and she grabbed it, flipping the TV on and cycling through the channels as if she was just getting a feeling for what was on.

[Daniel Uriel]

"Hngh?" A pile of blanket stirred on one of the other couches and Daniel peeked out. "Oh. Hi," he said sleepily before flopping his head back down onto the couch.

[Katerina Brezhnev]

"Oh," Katerina said, startled. "My apologies. I wasn't aware anyone was sleeping here. I can leave."

[Daniel Uriel]

Daniel opened his eyes again, taking an appraising look at her, then shrugged. "Nah. Probably time that I should be awake anyway, right? Just pick something good."

[Katerina Brezhnev]

"I will try," she said, continuing to flip through the channels. "Did you lock yourself out of your room?"

[Daniel Uriel]

"... Yeah, something like that," he muttered, rubbing his forehead. He seemed to think about something for a moment, then shook it off. "What time is it?"

[Katerina Brezhnev]

"Mid-morning, I am still getting used to the time myself, so I'm afraid I don't know the specific hour. I could probably unlock your door if you would like, although I might warp the lock completely. That has happened a few times."

[Daniel Uriel]

"Huh? Oh, no, won't be a problem. Thanks though," he said, stretching and checking over the side of the couch to make sure his backpack was still there.

[Katerina Brezhnev]

She hadn't disturbed his stuff that he could see. She finally settled on some show that looked like it was based around home construction or improvement and seemed to take at least more than passing interest in it.
