I1DT - Spare a little candle, save some light for me

[Brigid Plunder]

Towards evening, Brigid knocks on the door to Murphy and Melissa's suite.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy opens the door. She looks a bit on edge, but she relaxes when she sees Brigid.

"Hey," Murphy says. "What's up?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Hey, didn't catch you at a bad time, did I?"

"Just... needed to talk."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy shakes her head. She opens the door to let Brigid in.

Her room is...much cleaner for once. The hoard of books has diminished enough that you could conceivable move around without tripping over everything.

[Brigid Plunder]

"I'll try not to knock anything over," she says as she winds her way in.

"Still, you've been at this longer than I have, and I was just wondering..."

"...is it normal to have weird dreams about it?"

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy sits down on the floor, "Dreams?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Like I've been having some seriously messed up dreams lately."

"You were in one of them, and so were... well, these weird women who had collars like yours."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy looks disturbed by this bit of information. She unconsciously runs her hand along her neck.

"Think I had the same dream."

[Brigid Plunder]

"...really? Because it freaked me out a bit, but like nobody else in the pack had it."

[Hannah Murphy]

"Nobody?" Murphy asks. She sounds surprised. She frowns, looking thoughtful.

"Sisters," Murphy mumbles, trying to recall details from the dream. "They called us sisters."

[Samantha McManus]

"But they... died. They all had the collars and they'd been... sacrifices."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy nods. Her demeanor is suddenly cold and hard, "Not anyone's sacrifice."

She stands up and rubs her neck, "Time to get this off."

[Brigid Plunder]

"And I'm the one that put it on you," she says, wringing her hands.

[Hannah Murphy]

"Not your fault," Murphy says, shaking her head. "Murphy's."

[Brigid Plunder]

"You think she knows how to get it off? Would she even tell us?"

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy shrugs, "Not many options."

"Murphy...being used. Might not know anything," Murphy says. "Valentine hates me. McManus...."

Murphy's hair bristles. There was something about McManus she couldn't quite put into words.

"Not McManus."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Theresa would kill me," she jokes weakly.

"But yeah, the headmistress probably wouldn't be cool with this... thing we've got going on."

"The pack's gotta handle it."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy nods in agreement.

"What about you?" Murphy asks. "Okay?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"I've been alright. Kinda hungry, but I guess that's to be expected, right?"

[Hannah Murphy]

"Hungry all the time," Murphy says. She sighs.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Then I guess I shouldn't feel weird for that, yeah?"

"I mean, you're the expert."

[Hannah Murphy]

"Library sciences," Murphy jokes, "Minor in Werewolf Studies."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I bet you'll seriously get nobody keeping their books past due," she chuckles.

[Hannah Murphy]

"Everything returned before full moon," Murphy agrees.

[Brigid Plunder]

"At least we've still got a couple weeks before that hits again."

[Hannah Murphy]

"Deadline," Murphy says.

[Brigid Plunder]

"For the collar? Is it getting worse?"

[Hannah Murphy]

"Worse or...better?" Murphy says. She pinches the bridge of her nose and shakes her head. "Difference becoming blurry."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I mean... I know it hurts you, Murphy."

[Hannah Murphy]

"You don't!" Murphy snarls. She clenches her jaw and looks embarrassed at the sudden loss of control.

"Sorry."

[Brigid Plunder]

"I mean the collar. That's the part I'm not sure is 'better' by any definition."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy blushes, super-embarrassed at her outburst now, "Stopping my eye from healing."
