Can't You Hear Me Knocking

[Will Stanton]

Will stormed through the admin office, and knocked on Natalya's door.

[Natalya Romanov]

"Come in," Natalya said.

[Will Stanton]

"Tell me you know something about this," Will said storming in, clearly angry. "Tell me you were put up to this as a prank or something -- and it's not really funny -- but tell me you know who did this, alright?"

[Natalya Romanov]

"You'll have to tell me what you're talking about," Natalya said, the room getting appreciably colder.

[Will Stanton]

"This," Will said, tossing his keys onto her desk. "Doesn't work on my office. Doesn't work in the music room. Doesn't work on my home room, though it did when I locked up this morning. Doesn't work on my moped. They're useless."

[Natalya Romanov]

She examined the keys closely, "Have they been out of your sight at any time?"

[Will Stanton]

"Only in the sense that I was sleeping, so my eyes were closed.'

The keys were, well, standard keys -- the X-Team one a bit more complex, but still. They didn't appear to be deformed or missing teeth or anything.

[Natalya Romanov]

She pulled out one of her keys that duplicated one of his and compared the two.

[Narrator]

Sure enough, there were some subtle differences between the two.

[Natalya Romanov]

Without saying another word, she froze the keys into a solid block of ice. "Damn it. Call Sara, tell her to get containment up here."

[Will Stanton]

"Sure thing," Will said, pulling out his cell phone.


"...what the hell? I normally get bars around here..."

[Natalya Romanov]

"Drop it," she said, grabbing her phone and dialing Sara's lab number.

[Will Stanton]

Will *gently* puts the phone down on Natalya's desk.

[Sara Stanton]

"Yeah? Sara here." she answers the phone.

[Natalya Romanov]

Natalya froze the phone as well, but rather than freezing it as she had the keys, she suspended it in a web of ice inside a block of ice. "Sara, we've got two more possibly infected items with that stupid "Forget Will" virus. Can you bring some containment equipment up here?"

[Sara Stanton]

"Did you freeze them already?"

[Natalya Romanov]

"As best as I can," she said. "Will's here as well."

[Sara Stanton]

"Did you touch them or did they touch anything else in the room?"

[Natalya Romanov]

"I touched them. Will obviously touched them and they touched my desk," she said, looking at Will.

[Sara Stanton]

"I'll be right over. Don't touch anything else and get out of the room. Take the items with you."

[Natalya Romanov]

"Will do," Natalya said, hanging up the phone. "Out in the hallway, scientist's orders." The two ice blocks sprouted legs and jumped off the desk to start walking out.

[Will Stanton]

"This is not the strangest day I've ever had, and that's saying something," Will said, obediently leaving the room.

[Sara Stanton]

After a little bit Sara walks up to them in what looks like a hazmat suit, carrying several of the black containment tubes.

[Will Stanton]

"Darth Vader? From the planet Vulcan, I presume?"

[Sara Stanton]

Sara rolls her eyes behind the clear screen of the suit.

"Just put the items in here." she says, opening one of the tubes which lets out a puff of evaporating nitrogen.

[Natalya Romanov]

Natalya picked up the blocks of ice and they squeezed themselves down into the tube.

"I really hate these people."

[Will Stanton]

"TELL me about it," Will grumbled.

[Sara Stanton]

"I'm afraid you're only going to get grumpier in a second..." she says, opening another tube - this one devoid of liquid nitrogen at least - and holds it out towards Will.

[Will Stanton]

"...You're kidding, right?"

[Sara Stanton]

"I wish I was." she says.

[Will Stanton]

"Jeez, buy me dinner first or something," Will grumbled, obediently going into the tube.

[Natalya Romanov]

"These things are capable of erasing your name from documents and altering your keys. DO you really want to risk what else they might do?"

[Sara Stanton]

"I'm really sorry. We'll see if we can separate them out from the rest of you." she says with bit of a forced smile before closing the container.

"Miss Romanov, if you could come with me to the lab, we'll see if we can get any traces of those things off of your hands."

[Natalya Romanov]

"You're the containment expert."

[Sara Stanton]

"I'm really just hoping standard techniques contain them and using their own borrowed equipment for the things that fit inside." she says as they head off to the labs.
