When a Phoenix meets a Raven

"Well it's asking a bit much of someone, aye?"

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Well, that depends on what you're doing. If you transport people randomly into battle scenarios, maybe. But there are degrees, yes?"

"Aye, but you could see why I'd be reluctant to push my luck with people."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Well, you need to start with people you trust. Pushing, for example, the woman who Mel set up for you would be a poor idea."

[Samantha McManus]

"I can appreciate that, but at the same time I don't want to abandon her. There's been a bit of a mismatch between my expectations and hers."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"What does SHE want you to do? Has she asked for anything in particular?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Not since she asked me to be her personal psychopomp."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"A role you've taken on before, albeit from a psychological perspective and not a mythical one."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye, so perhaps there's less pressure there than I really think."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"I wouldn't put it like that. It's not something you've ever been asked to do before--you're a first-timer at this. I was much the same way. You remember how much I fought against all of this."

"Aye, but now I wonder if I'm not making it bigger than it is, simply because of how she regards me."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"You have to remember, what she wants is you. Yes, she might have some pre-conceived notions of what that entails, but at the end of the day, you ARE the Morrigan. It's not trying to be something you are not."

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye, and Bell shouldn't be allowed to taint that. I'm just very wary of doing harm with this girl."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Alright, let's worst-case scenario this. What do you fear will happen?"

[Samantha McManus]

"She's placed a great deal of trust in me that I'm not sure I've earned. I don't want to fail her."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"You haven't failed most of your flock here, Sam. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for."

[Samantha McManus]

"Even so, I don't think I can afford to let up."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"Would you like backup? We could go together."

[Samantha McManus]

"I... suppose there's something to admitting I need help."

[Altamira Vazquez]

"It's not a position you normally find yourself in."

[Samantha McManus]

"And I think perhaps it is fair to say I need an outside perspective."

"I'm about as far outside as you can get."
