Sam's Office: The Warrior & The Crocodile

John knew by now that knocking was pointless with the headmistress, but did so anyway. He had an appointment for the telepathic assistance Dr. Webster had recommended. He was still nervous about it.

The lizardman, now almost physically back to normal, entered. He nervously straightened his black dress shirt that still didn't quite fit correctly.

"Thanks for seeing me so quickly."

"Yeah..." he sighed, "Like there was something that happened that made me scared of that part of me that Kraven's drug woke back up."

"Bit of an odd worry," she said as she reached out with her mind. John felt the sensation of many feathered wings crowding around him as she made contact.

Sam found herself atop a grassy hill overlooking a partially destroyed village made up of buildings that were a fusion of architectural styles stereotypical of the respective feudal eras of Japan and Western Europe. It sat among rolling hills of farmland marred by long gouges that seemed to have been carved out by an enormous clawed hand, though the wounded land seems to be recovering. Beyond lay a forest and some sort of walled castle.

Looking out over the hills, she tried to trace the origin of the gouges, and whether there was a trail to follow from them.

There was no trail, but the gouges all seemed to angle toward the castle.

"Well then, we'll go with the lead we have..."

Her avatar broke up into the flock, and headed towards the castle.

The approaching walls literally rise up as she approaches, blocking access. However, there is a hole at the base where something had broken out. The opening is guarded by two armored soldiers.

"The Beast has been driven back inside by The Swordsman. No one else is permitted entry," one answered.
