There was no evidence of this fact, however, as he was once again asleep in his chair at his desk.

They reached the end of the walkway, and Roland heaved open the heavy door to the bunker.

To say Roland had a "small collection" was misleading. Weapons of all sorts from all eras hung on the walls next to various suits of armor, along with piles and piles of fabric. Barrels and buckets, filled with things, lined the floor as well. It was like the backroom of a museum had exploded and all the exhibits strewn around.

"I'm fairly certain a curator would disagree. Some of this is bound to be valuable simply for it's condition. Maybe not the more recent things, but the older ones? A lot of what actually is in museums has been buried in the ground for a thousand years. These things are pristine in comparison."

Roland had a hell of a lot of silk clothes in his collection, oddly enough, as well as a lot of gems. Some of the items, however, were more esoteric--sketches, toys, books, a number of clocks. Roland seemed reluctant to throw most things out.

"I don't suppose you play Senet," Roland said, dusting off an old board and some bone pieces.
