"I've never found that satisfactory, actually. Some people don't want to be treated very well."

"Well, don't let me stop you giving 110% on treating others well."

"That's what I do, even if it breaks the laws of physics," Will nodded.

"Please, those are vague guidelines at best. Don't tell Professor Bowen I said that."

"Oh, I wouldn't go that far. I'm sure there ARE rules, we just don't know what they are, yet."

"Right. Well, is there anything else you'd like to know?"

"I was actually more interested in how your magic works, honestly. It's come to my attention that I am...woefully uniformed when it comes to that."

"Mostly according to 3000 year old rules and rituals. There's not exactly a handy guidebook."

"Well, perhaps I could watch and learn, then," Will countered.

"I see no reason why not."

"I'll admit, I was...disappointed when Sam saw through my Action Figure ruse."

"You tend to be a little bit... overly enthusiastic about things."

"Is that a problem?"

"It can be. These things have very peculiar rules, many of them obscure and it's easy to break them without noticing right away."

"And just how unenthusiastic were you when you ended up bleeding all of your blood out last week?" Will asked, mildly.

"I'm not saying that I'm immune to the pitfalls. If anything that just illustrates how serious these matters can be."

"I'm just saying, 'tsall. Enthusiasm doesn't seem to be a deal-breaker."

"I'd planned this for months and researched it for even longer before attempting this and it still almost failed. You can't replace any of that with sheer ambition or fervor and an intention of doing well. It's not a deal-breaker but you can't let it overshadow the rest."

"'Almost' failed? You mean, being rushed to the hospital didn't signify failure?"
