"I do trust him." Chloe sobbed "I just don't want anyone to steal him, and now he's gone. He's gone and I'll be alone forever."

Melody sighed, almost feeling a bit bad at this point. "Chloe, I don't think he's done with you forever. I think he's probably pissed at you. And I know he's pissed at me."

She remained unmoved from her reclining position on the infirmary bed.

"It'll be fine. Go apologize to him later. Give him some time to cool off...he seems like he needs some time to do that. Or something. He's off. Just...stop crying."

You're really ugly when you cry. It's annoying.

"Do you really think so?" Chloe asked, sounding hopeful.

[Melody Martens]

"He put up with my shit, I'm sure he can put up with yours," she said pushing herself up slightly in her bed, wincing as she put pressure on her hands.

"What did you do to him?" Chloe asked "Besides being a slut, I mean."

[Melody Martens]

"I disappeared for days and weeks on end, came back an emotional wreck most times, and he was patient, kind, and wonderful every time. He put up with how competitive I am in pretty much everything. He put up with my baggage that comes with watching your parents go through a messy divorce because your mom is ashamed of her mutant freak daughter."

She shrugged. "He puts up with a lot. I'm sure, with some time to cool off, he'll be fine with you. He seems to like you a lot, you sure as shit seem to like him."

"I just hope that is enough." Chloe sniffled.

[Melody Martens]

"Well. Us not beating the shit out of each other might help. Might help lots of things. And just...I dunno. Do something for him as nice as he always does for you when you apologize. I know I sure as shit didn't reciprocate the nice gestures enough."

"Ok." Chloe said "I'll try to not fight with you. And yeah, I know I can think of something nice to do for him."

"And I'll try to stay civil with you."
