"I'm not attracted to girls...." Isabel said "I mean, I wouldn't rule it out, but its never happened. But that could be that I've never gotten close enough to a girl to feel that way. Emotionally close, I mean."

[Connor Marshall]

"You... no? Oh. Sorry..." 'He' winced. "That's what I get fer assuming, right?"

[Isabel Galen]

"Its more that I'm...I only feel attracted to people that I've really gotten to know first." Isabel said "Like, I have to feel this strong connection, otherwise, I'm not attracted to them. I don't judge or anything." she added "But its just how I am."

[Connor Marshall]

"Well aye, but it would explain the 'not thinking there was anything wrong with me being a girl' or the 'pretending to fixate tragically on some married bloke' thing. But I'm just talking out of my arse an' I know it."

[Isabel Galen]

"Well, there isn't anything wrong with being a girl!" Isabel said "I happen to be one, and its pretty cool. I mean, I get that you're a dude, and this is all weird, but....and I'm not pretending to feel anything. I've accepted it'll never happen, but....I don't know if I'll ever feel that deep of a connection with anyone again."

"Right, like you had with that bloke who thinks you're just another girl."

"That was....I was stoned, and I made a mistake." Isabel said "Besides, we didn't do anything."

"Not that piker, I meant- wait, you thought you had a connection with that bastard?"

"Ewww, no!" Isabel said "Of course not!"

"Of course not." Isabel said "He's married, and he has a child. It would never occur to him to be unfaithful."

"Yeah, 'having a connection' with someone is kind of a mutual thing, luv."

"For some people, maybe." Isabel said "Not for me. Anyway, you need to get checked out and get some food into you."

[Connor Marshall]
