"I'll see what I can do. Keep it exposed, I'll try to draw it out." she says and unceremoniously clears off a table by sweeping all the clutter to the floor with her arm so she can start drawing on it with a piece of coal.

While Nailah was drawing, the shadowbeast continued cautiously trying to approach Robyn, first from one angle, then the next.

You're just delaying the inevitable, girly. This one is mine. Leave now.

You think you're frightening? I've lived frightening. She held the staff aloft, moving towards the center of the room. She tried to spur the light into greater radiance, trying to corral the thing with it.

Meanwhile Nailah finished drawing the circle and hurries to the next room, returning with one of Isabel's rats in a cage, placing it on the table in the middle of the circle. She gently places her hand on Persephone's forehead and begins chanting.

The light was strong--and then, it seemed to burst into even greater prominence from the aid of Nailah's chanting, as if the bulb had been replaced by one of higher wattage.

The shadowbeast screamed out in a soundless, deafening cry, and faded away, slowly but surely.

Back in the "real world", Persephone coughed up a lungfull of black ichor.

Nasty thing, Robyn's avatar spat. As bad as this memory was, she couldn't interfere with it, so she slowly began backing out of the room, keeping an eye out for any more surprises.

Not wasting any time or giving the thing a chance to try anything else Nailah clasps her hands together in a flash that mirrors it's metaphorical equivalent inside Persephone's mind and binds the black thing into the rat.

The father figure spat in disgust, as the mental Persephone whimpered. No other "surprises", per se, as she headed back towards the wooded area.

The black glop squealed as Nailah sealed it into the poor rat, now a Rat of All Evil

I really wanted beat that man, but not really my place. She looked towards the other door.

"It's not the man himself. It's a memory of him."

"Oh I know exactly where the real one is." she says quietly. She still sounds perfectly composed, though Sam would probably be able to tell she really isn't.

I'm aware of what he is, which is why it's not my place.

Nailah stares off into space and almost absentmindedly picks up the cage with the rat inside.

"I need to take this somewhere safe... If she comes to, please tell her that everything's going to be fine and her father will never lay a finger on her again..."

Robyn faded back into existence, leaving Persephone's mind behind. "That was... well... I'm not sure what that was."

"That's the thing. You're playing by the rules of a particular person's subconscious. Things want to flow in very specific ways, and while they can be forced, it's both difficult and potentially damaging to the person."
