Chloe was in a bed in the infirmary, changing channels on the television in an annoyed way.

Derek looked rather annoyed himself, and was dressed in his regular clothes when he came in. "Apparently, there's a rule in place that you can't be assigned to take care of your own boyfriend or girlfriend," he griped. "God, I'm glad to see you," he said as he walked over to her bed.

"They weren't my pack." Chloe snapped, then continued, feeling increasingly desperate "I took care of them because I am ME, and I'm an X-man, and taking care of people is what I do. I had to hold onto that. It was the only thing keeping me......ME. He violated me, shattered by control, made it so that my dino shape wasn't me anymore."

Derek shifted gears again, squeezing her hand again. "Okay, that was a bad way to put it. I'm sorry." He leaned in closer. "Talk to me, babe. I love you, and it's going to be okay. It was horrible and I hope that asshole pays for what he did, but you made it. You kept control of it and didn't give him what he wanted."
