Wednesday the 17th - Cabin Fever

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"...yeah...I...don't know for sure. But we should probably plan for the worst, no?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"That's hard to bring up. Hey guys, don't worry, I'm okay after last night. I've just got to hang out until we figure out if I'm going to turn into a hellbeast."

"...no offense."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"None taken," she said "I...know it's a big deal. It's why I've been making such a big deal about this all night and morning."

"...and I'm sure not many people know about last night yet, so...it'll be fine. We'll get through this."

Steph was bad at lying or vastly under-appreciating the speed at which the Xavier's rumor mill spun.

[Kay Haddock]

And that is when Kay bursts through the door, leaving behind the commotion in the hallway of the nurses station trying to stop her.

"Ohmygod, are you guys alright!? What happened!"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Uhm... hey, Kay." She waves sheepishly.

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Stephanie facepalmed.

[Kay Haddock]

"Youdidn'tshowuptoclassandsomeonesaidyouwereattheinfirmarysoIgotworriedandranoverhereandthenursesaidyoutwowereherebutshewouldn'tletmeinbutIjustranpasther!" she manages without a single breath somehow.

[Brigid Plunder]

"...we're alright, Kay. We just kind of had... stuff go down, last night."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Everything's fine," Stephanie attempted to reassure Kay, poorly.

[Kay Haddock]

"Oh. Okay... Good!" she says, feeling a little stupid all of a sudden. "What happened?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Some sort of... giant Norse wolf. We handled it. It was pretty weird."

[Kay Haddock]

"Aww man, that sounds awesome."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"It...Brigid handled it like a professional," Stephanie said, still caught a bit off guard. "As did Theresa, but she's a X-Man now, so that's just kind of assumed."

[Brigid Plunder]

"It just really... needed to be done. It's safe now."

[Kay Haddock]

"Could you two be any more vague?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"That's me, the height of professionalism," Theresa said, though she was obviously pleased at the compliment. "It wasn't particularly awesome, Kay. It was actually kind of messy. Not the sort of story I'll be telling my kids some day."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"They've been up most of the night and they're tired Kay. We all have. You'll have to excuse us if we aren't more...verbose...in our description of a somewhat troubling endeavor. We also still need to fully inform the Headmistress of the events and I'd prefer she heard it from us first rather than the rumor mill, you know?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Oh God, we have to do that?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"I'll handle it, but yes, we do need to, especially since you're still a minor."

[Kay Haddock]

Kay doesn't really look super convinced but there's not much she can do about that.

"I'm not spreading any rumors." she frowns.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Wait, wait, they're not going to have to tell my parents, are they?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"You live in a school with psychics who have poor impulse and/or power control. You might not intentionally spread rumors, but you never know."

She turned to Brigid. "You don't want to have that conversation, and I don't want to make that phone call either, which is why we need to discuss this with the headmistress first."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Thank god for not being a minor anymore."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeah, yeah, you're not that much older than me."

[Theresa McMasters]

"No, I'm not, but that 8 in my age apparently makes me some sort of responsible adult, no matter how insane that is."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Speaking of responsibility, I think I found who's going to help me tell the Headmistress," she smirked, looking directly at Theresa.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Oh am I now?" She smirked back at Stephanie.

[Brigid Plunder]

"I think she's calling your bluff."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Yes. If I'm going in there I want backup right next to me," she smirked.

[Theresa McMasters]

"I suppose if I must. Can I go get an actual shower first?"

[Brigid Plunder]

"Yeah, seriously. Can we go out awhile, as long as we're, y'know, back in time?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Yeah, if they're fine why are they in here?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Stephanie stiffened a bit, and did a poor job of covering up her lie.

"I think you are probably fine to roam around. Get cleaned up. Rest a bit if need be. And just meet up with me later on today and we can...um...discuss things further.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Finally," Theresa said, closing her laptop. "It'll take me about thirty minutes to get suitable for talking to the Headmistress. Meet you at her office?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Yes. I'll do the same."

[Brigid Plunder]

"Freedom!" She laughs, getting up off the bed.
