"You know that you don't have to put on a brave face for me though, aye?"

She makes bit of a scrunched up face in response to that.

"I just don't know what to make of all this. I want to cheer because it just feels like it worked but at the same time... I believe he was trying to make a point. I guess that when all's said and done he still has the final say? Did I pass some kind of test?"

"He said that he can't even find your heart to test it."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Because the Shadow Urn obscured it during the ritual..."

"Seemed he was cutting his losses when he left, but not without spiting us."

"I'm glad you were there to defy the gods with me." she smiles weakly.

"I defied a god, with another there to back me up."

"...and I may have gotten a bit cross with Sekhmet when you passed out."

"Still..." she smiles at Sam and let's herself sink into the pillow some.

"I'm not certain how one makes amends to a goddess one's yelled at, I'll admit."

"Offerings, usually. She likes beer and chicken sacrifices."

She snorts.

"Sounds like I ought to have a picnic with her."

"Who doesn't love ritual sacrifice and headless chicken in the park."

"Almost nobody leaves the heads on, love."

"No, but most people leave that to the butcher."
