Sept 7th - *Mission Impossible Theme*

[Jennifer Newgate]

With her laptop under one arm and a spare blanket under the other Jennifer wanders around the mostly dark and quiet Rec Center with Maya, looking for vents or air ducts that might lead to the secret room.

[Maya Mills]

Maya stands underneath a vent, "Here's one."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Hmm, though to get into for me, but maybe you can find a better one from inside."

[Maya Mills]

"We'll see," Maya says. She takes a deep breath and concentrates before shifting into a cloud of smoke.

She drifts through the vent system for a few minutes. She lets her body stretch out as far as it can, mapping as much of the ventilation system as she can, and before long she returns to Jennifer.

"Here," Maya says. "It's weird, but I think I found a way in. Come on."

Maya starts heading over to a supply closet.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"There's a vent in the closet? Who built this place?"

[Maya Mills]

"I have no idea. It's like a maze in there," Maya says. She opens the closet and pushes some equipment aside. Sure enough, there's a large vent at floor level.

"Help me get the grate off."

[Jennifer Newgate]

She puts down her stuff and helps Maya pry open the grate. Kneeling down in front of it she tries to look into the dark shaft.

"Eerie. Here, lemme get my phone so we can see." she says, pulling up a flashlight app on her smartphone and shining it into the vent.

[Maya Mills]

"It's not too far down," Maya says. She starts to climb into the vent, lowering herself down slowly before dropping.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"And you say you're easily scared." she says, waiting for Maya to climb down so she can hand her the various things they brought before climbing down into the vent herself.

[Maya Mills]

"I am terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought," Maya says. She takes the stuff from Jennifer and gives her room to get down.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"No, see, we're the creepy things crawling through the vents to jump on somebody unsuspecting." she says, letting herself down and looking around.

[Maya Mills]

There were several small corridors that all over beneath the complex.

"That one," Maya says, pointing towards the left. "You go down there and take the second right. Leads to a vent that drops down right into a closed off room."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Sweet, that's probably it then unless they sealed away another room." she says and starts crawling down the corridor.

"This is awesome... Secret room with a secret tunnel..."

[Maya Mills]

"Hopefully it doesn't just become a place for people to drink beer and hook up," Maya says, being her usual optimistic self.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Nothing wrong with that if they're not dicks about it."

[Maya Mills]

Maya is quiet as they keep crawling for a minute.

"So....have you ever..." Maya asks, "You know...drank beer?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Yeah. Tastes kinda bad at first but it's fun."

[Maya Mills]

"And you didn't pass out or anything?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Who passes out from a beer or two?"

[Maya Mills]

Maya blushes. Luckily, no one can see her, "I don't know....people."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Well usually they don't." she says, trying not to roll her eyes in the darkness.

"Hey, I think we're here." she says when she comes to another grate. With a couple of smacks with the palm of her hand the grate comes loose and clatters into the room.

[Maya Mills]

"Good," Maya says. "I was starting to get a bit claustrophobic."

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer carefully climbs out, pushing boxes of junk out of the way that are partially blocking the vent. Holding up her smartphone she shines a light around the room to see where they came out and to find the lightswitch.

[Maya Mills]

They're in the Underground. There's a banner and everything!

Maya drops down behind Jennifer. "Are there lights in here?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Yeah, there's a switch over there. I'll get it." she says, heading over to flip on the lights.

"Oh hey, looks like someone found a mini-fridge."

[Maya Mills]

"Wow. This...this is pretty cool actually," Maya says.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"I know, right? It's awesome. And the best part is that no one's going to bother us here."

[Maya Mills]

Maya nods, still looking around, "That is pretty cool."

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer dumps the blanket on the couch and puts the laptop down next to it. "We should try to find some used lockers. It'd be cool if I could bring some of my books down here..."

[Maya Mills]

"And some cleaning supplies," Maya says, wiping dust off a shelf with her finger. "It's filthy in here."

[Jennifer Newgate]

"It's just some dust. Well okay, a lot of dust."

[Maya Mills]

Maya sits down on the couch, "So, what are we watching?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"I was thinking Nightmare on Elm Street."

[Maya Mills]

"Is it bad?" Maya asks.

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Well it's scary but that's kind of the point. It's not super scary though."

[Maya Mills]

"Alright..." Maya says, curling up a bit.

[Jennifer Newgate]

Jennifer flops down on the couch next to her and futzes with her Laptop for a bit to pull the movie up.

[Maya Mills]

Maya shifts a little to give Jennifer room, "You watch a lot of horror movies?"

[Jennifer Newgate]

"Yeah, they're great. Well, except when they suck but then they usually suck in hilarious ways because failed scary is just unintentional funny."

[Maya Mills]

"Cool," Maya says. "I don't watch a lot of movies. I mean, I like 'em alright, I just..."

Maya shrugs. She can't really explain.
