[Narrator]

For the games, the gym had been transformed. Bleachers had been moved around so that the students could watch several large video screens cycling through various shots of the grounds, lingering around the bases usually, since that's where the flags still were. Refreshment tables had been set up and several faculty were busy supervising the room, just to make sure things didn't get out of hand.

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda was sitting in the back corner of one of the bleachers. It kept her wings out of everyone's way and while she felt an expectation to be here, she didn't feel a need to be front and center either.

Will dashed in.

"Everything good in here?"

[Trev Anderson]

"Not enough popcorn," Trev joked. "This is awesome though. What a great idea, Will."

[Will Stanton]

"I"m a little disappointed more actual team members didn't get involved, but hey--this lets me know who's really dedicated to the whole thing."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I wouldn't be too hard on them," Miranda said, looking down from her perch. "It's been a busy couple of weeks."

[Nina Madaraki]

Nina falls backwards into a seat, holding popcorn. She looks happy and rather excited.

"Pfft," Nina says. "You should put them through their paces, Will. After all, this is a great opportunity to find out what everyone is capable of."

[Will Stanton]

"I'm hoping to see how they work together," Will nodded. "Plus, a little conflict is good for the soul."

[Stan Bowen]

Stan ambled in, taking a seat with a bottle of soda.

"Not too late? Good!"

[Nina Madaraki]

"OoooOoo! We should take bets!" Nina says. "Fifty-bucks says Ms. Haddock is the first to draw blood. She looks like a scrapper."

[Will Stanton]

"There will be no blood drawn," Will said, optimistically.

[Nina Madaraki]

"I've also got twenty-bucks on Will being proven wrong in the first ten minutes," Nina says cheerfully.

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda's eyes narrowed slightly at Will's statement about conflict or they would have if she had eyes to narrow.

[John Hino]

John took a seat, holding a bag of jerky and a large drink.

"Anything actually happen yet?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Lots of discussing, though it looks like Blue is starting to move."

[Will Stanton]

"Ooh, Blue with the defensive gambit there," Will commented, as a blast of water knocked Kara back.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Theresa *and* Vivienne. That's a big commitment from Blue."

[Will Stanton]

"They're going almost full defense--odd, in such an easily defensible location. I wonder what they're planning."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Looks like things are falling apart for Blue. Though they've engaged Red's defense, so maybe things will start going their way."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Maintenance is going to hate you, Will," Miranda said as Murphy took out the windows in the cafeteria. A note of smugness might be floating in her tone.

[Will Stanton]

"As if they didn't already," Will said, but with a tinge of regret in his voice.

[Miranda Weaver]

"And... it looks like Red may get stalled. Blue's doing an excellent job on Red's defense."

[John Hino]

"Red still has two attackers scaling the lighthouse. Neither of those girls is a pushover. And don't forget Bear's out there somewhere."

"And, oooh, Blue's offense is having some internal drama," John said as Gar started shouting at Kay.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Kay hit Vertie with a sedative," Miranda said, familiar with what Kay was capable of. "My guess is Gar's just flipping out because it's his sister and he doesn't understand."

[Narrator]

Miranda made a thoughtful noise as she watched some of the things play out. Then she rose and started making her way out of the gym.

[Will Stanton]

Will raised an eyebrow at that, but remained where he was.

[Miranda Weaver]

"It will likely end in a draw and there will likely be at least one more injury," she called out over her shoulder as she exited through the doors.

[Will Stanton]

"...Excuse me for a moment, will you?" Will smiled, getting up and heading through the doors after Miranda.

The smile dropped the moment he stepped through the doors.

[John Hino]

"Looks like Kevin's out," John said. "If you ask me, Steph let him off easy."

[Will Stanton]

"See? No one's getting hurt..."

[John Hino]

"I'm not so sure Mister Jaeger would agree," John said as a screen showed Maya releasing Graham.

[Will Stanton]

"That's it. Party's over, everyone."

[John Hino]

"Look, Nash is checking on him. I'm sure Jaeger will be fine," John answered.

[Will Stanton]

"I don't believe I stuttered," Will said, leaving the room again.

[Trev Anderson]

Trev looked from Will back to John and then to the monitors, thoroughly confused. "Did...I miss something?"

[Narrator]
