Theresa sighed slightly as she watched Kay's reaction, but now was not the time to have *that* discussion.

Graham raised a brow at Kay.

"You okay? You look like someone just pissed in your cornflakes."

You sir, are the king of tact.

[Kay Haddock]

"What? No, shut up, I'm fine." she says, angrily slapping a sandwich onto her plate.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley frowned at Graham. You're not supposed to ask things like that in a huge group, you dork. she scolded him telepathically.

He looked back at Haley questioningly. Totally clueless.

Haley rolled her eyes in exasperation, and mindspoke again to him. If you're really interested in how someone, especially a girl feels, you pull her aside and ask privately. That looks like you care. Asking the whole room makes you look like a douche.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Geez, what did that sandwich ever do to you?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Hanging out with the pita bread or something, I dunno." she mumbles.

[Vertie Easley]

"Pita and her pocket...obviuously one of "those" types." Vertie nodded sagely and smiled at Graham who actually looked sort of cute befuddled.

"Oh..." he thought back, embarrassed though still not entirely sure why.

Think of it this way... she explained to him slowly Would you rather a cute girl tell you your fly is open in front of an entire class, or pull you aside and tell you privately?

"Ah... But... what's Kay got to be embarrassed about?"

Theresa moved over to get some refreshments, but was still attempting to give Kay her space. This did not work out particularly well.

"Point taken. And... thanks. I'm... yeah pretty stupid about social stuff."

[Haley Crusek]

It's okay. You're lucky you're so damn cute, she thought back at him and winked.

Graham blinked.

"You... think I'm cute?"

Haley ignored Graham's question but had a mischievous grin on her face, and resumed eating her sandwich and dancing to another song that was apparently her favorite ever.

Evil.

[Kay Haddock]

Theresa moved over to get some refreshments, but was still attempting to give Kay her space. This did not work out particularly well.

"Hey." she says awkwardly.

[Brigid Plunder]

Brigid looks between Kay and Theresa, sipping her drink.

"Hey," Theresa says, almost as awkwardly.

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy was shadowing Theresa and probably not helping the awkwardness. She looked a bit concerned. People were tense and she couldn't quite figure out why.

"...Good job," Murphy tells Kay. "During the games."

"You were helpful."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Yeah, you did a good job," Theresa added, hoping to defuse things a bit.

[Kay Haddock]

"Yeah, well, not good enough, I guess. But thanks anyway." she forces a smile. Murphy is making her nervous for some reason.

[Vertie Easley]

"I think you did great. Stealthy like a ninja and you were only..what... a few seconds after Haley?"

[Kay Haddock]

"Little longer, but yeah..." she smiles faintly.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Just take the compliments and go with it," Theresa said with a smile, moving to give Kay a brief hug. "You did a good job."

[Hannah Murphy]

Murphy purposefully doesn't react. It's fine for someone to hug their ex. They're still friends.

[Kay Haddock]

"Right. Thanks." she manages a smile.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Aside from which, Brigid gets to ride the smug train for a while now. She seems to be gunning for engineer of the smug train at this point," she smirked as she stepped back, closer to Murphy's orbit.

[Brigid Plunder]

"Hey, there'll be more games."

[Haley Crusek]

"Which we'll win," Haley chimed in with a grin.

[Brigid Plunder]

"See? It's not all me."

"Choo choo, all aboard Haley's smug train..."

[Theresa McMasters]

"We'll just have to see how long before that train derails," Theresa said with a smirk.

[Hannah Murphy]

"Lucky," Murphy says with a grin. "Won't happen again."

[Theresa McMasters]

"Yeah, lightning only strikes twice when I'm guiding it."

[Haley Crusek]

"Big talk. I'll back up this victory with a repeat, just you wait," Haley grinned.

[Graham Jaeger]

"Yeah. Luck's got nothing to do with it," Graham grinned.
