He looked at Kay and saw her panic, he looked hurt and sad. "I am sorry for my actions earlier. The girl you took down is my sister." He extended his hand towards Kay, in it was a wrapped egg sized something.

"She's fine. Heals quick. Slept better then she has in a long time." He smiled carefully. "But it shut down her power, fast and hard. I couldn't see her and suddenly stopped feeling her, it...scared me. I acted without thinking." he looked at Alex a moment then back to Kay. "I lashed out at you and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry."

Or would you take a swing at the first person you thought was responsible?" Gar stood straight, he had been slouching to appear less intimidating. "My father ruled through violence, tried to teach us to do the same. Thought he had a right because he was stronger, bigger. He was wrong and so are you, it's not the male who rules the Pride, it's the females." He turned his back on Alex. "Ladies." Gar made a stiff bow made to leave.

Vertie moved in around Graham, "Thanks..." and then stopped and spotted Gar easily. "Something's wrong. Sorry." She smiled at Graham and opened her power, it would touch Graham's surface emotions a moment then leave as she "reached" for Gar. As she "touched" him she gasped and stumbled against Graham. "He's hurting..." She whimpered softly.

Gar suddenly blinked and swore under his breath. "Vertie..." He looked and spotted her near the doors with Graham, there was a slight glare in Graham's direction.

"Sad...angry...hurt..." She smiled a little at Graham, tears in her eyes. She regained her balance as she "pulled" away from Gar. "Thanks." She ran over to Gar and jumped up to hug him around the neck.

Graham stood there for a moment, briefly confused and disappointed by Vertie's sudden departure. He shook it off and approached the others.

"So... who won?"

"Shh..girl. I'm fine. Go, have fun." Gar smiled as he pried Vertie off and set her on the ground. "Go on." he said before pausing at the refreshment table to liberate a large portion of the protein choice before leaving and sitting out on the grass.
