A relaxing cup of tea

[Nash Riley]

"Not sure I can even see that far down, If I can its going to take a lot more practice. That's the other thing I learned about my powers, I'm so good at using them to build things because that's where all my practice has been. Learning to use them in new ways is going to take some effort."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Well, that's why we're all here. No better place to practice than a place with a holographic virtual reality room and several experts on mutant genetics and science, right?"

[Nash Riley]

"Yeah, I've been using the Danger Room a bit already."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

Steph finished her tea and set the cup down gingerly. "Well let me know if there's anything I can help you with, or people I can put you in touch with."

[Nash Riley]

"Will do. Want another cup? I'm going to make more."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"No, thank you," she smiled. "I get edgy enough around the full moon without having caffeine jitters."

[Nash Riley]

"Okay then, just for me." As he starts heating the kettle back up. "Still want to hear about the pebbles?"

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Sure," she smiled.

[Nash Riley]

“Though I said finding pebbles, perhaps I should have said finding a pebble." The words 'a pebble' were emphasized and made in a distinct tone from the rest of the sentence.

"I started with a test somewhat like a shell game, I had to find the nut shell with the pebble hidden underneath it. That was easy enough to do with my power.”

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"I would imagine so."

[Nash Riley]

“Later he asked me If I could remember the pebble from before. I said yes, then he said he had placed it on the table and to see if I could find it again. It was only when I used my powers to look did I realize that all the shells had a pebble underneath them.”

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Isn't the point of most shell games to have it be harder to find a pebble?"

[Nash Riley]

"Ah, but you see, I was supposed to find the pebble from before, not just any pebble."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Were you able to find the right one?"

[Nash Riley]

"Yes, but it took awhile. None of the ones under the shells were it. The one from before was underneath the tray the tea set was on."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Sneaky."

[Nash Riley]

"I was looking for the same pebble again and again. In a pile of pebbles, in a small field, stuff like that."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"So you're able to see the rocks' ...I suppose fingerprints is a good enough analogy...and can tell them apart?"

[Nash Riley]

"Yes, Shape, size, mineral composition."

The kettle had heated up again and he took it of the heat.

"It might seem useless but did it made good practice."

[Stephanie Kaltiera]

"Not useless at all. Lots of practical applications."

[Nash Riley]

"Yes, I probably won't ever need to find a pebble, but what I learned could be used for other things."
