Miranda was on edge in the cafeteria line and moving through it much faster than she used to. She found a seat and started eating quietly.

Kay's carrying her tray down the row of tables, looking for Brigid when she sees Miranda sitting by herself. She heads over and sits down at her table.

"Hey. Mind if I sit here?"

"You know, like in those cheesy martial arts movies. An old wise mentor dude who's blind and teaches kung-fu and everyone thinks he's frail and weak but then he catches flies with chopsticks and stuff and it turns out he's secretly super tough."
