Sept 26th - Hot Chocolate

[Kay Haddock]

After dragging Miranda back to the manor Kay is in the process of setting her room up for movie time. She has her laptop set up on the bottom-bunk and blankets hug up to turn it into a cozy little room full of pillows. She has the side of one of the blankets propped up a bit to include the nightstand. Right now she's outside the blanket-fort, digging through her small stash of snack-stuff in the search for marshmallows. She was going to bring them to the bonfire tomorrow, but it won't hurt if the bag isn't entirely full anymore and cheering up Miranda is more important anyway.

"Haley won't mind us taking up the room like this?" Miranda said as she came in, looking around the blanket fort.

[Kay Haddock]

"Dunno. I would have asked her but she's not here anyway." she shrugs.

[Miranda Weaver]

"If she does, we can switch to my room," Miranda said, finding a place to get settled.

[Kay Haddock]

"Sounds good. You go look through the movies and pick one, I'll run and make us some coco."

[Miranda Weaver]

"Okay," Miranda said, flipping through the movies to find one.

[Kay Haddock]

Kay bounces out of the room and after a while comes back with two big steaming mugs of chocolaty goodness. She lifts up the blanket and places them on the nightstand. "Marshmallow for you, ma'am?" she asks with her head poking into the fort.

"Yes, please," Miranda said, smiling at her.

[Kay Haddock]

Kay climbs into the fort with the bag of marshmallows and drops a bunch in each of their mugs. "There we go!" she grins and hands one over to Miranda before settling into the pile of pillows next to her.

Miranda takes her mug and cradles it, inhaling the steam coming off the surface. She had left the movie resting on the top of Kay's laptop. "I like this," she said, looking around at the blanket fort.

"Best cure for the gloomies, right after rollercoaster rides." she smiles as she puts the movie in.

Miranda snuggled in closer, sipping at her hot chocolate as the movie started.

Kay grabs her own mug and leans her head against Miranda's shoulder, occasionally glancing over at her throughout the movie. She feels kind of weird about having ended up here when she had been kind of looking for Miranda in order to break up with her, but she wasn't gonna do that when she was having a shit day already. Plus this is nice so doubts about the decision to call it off are creeping into her head. It's not butterflies, but it's really cozy.

For Miranda's part, she seemed intent on enjoying this while it lasted. Somewhere in the back of her head there were quiet warning bells telling her that there was a chance things were going to be over, but she ignored them and... for once... decided to just be in the present moment.
