Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
Wanda smirked as she brought the drinks and the food back to their table in the Rose & Crown. "So do you think he'll actually show or did we scare him off?"
"Hard to say. He looked the type who knew a thing or three about girls and we are a couple of stone cold foxes. I even tried to tone down the cold, not be such a prickly pear." Tala took a deep breath over the food. "Oh sweet sweet fried fats and carb covered calories."
"You spent most of the time testing the limits of the schools hot water heaters." She smiled and "ate", at least the plates became fascinatingly less full. She had grown careful to leave some for Wanda.
"It was fifteen damn minutes total from walk to the showers to my return. Not all of us are finished in under sixty seconds," she said, scooting one of the plates further away from Tala.
Tala flinched, Wanda had chosen a nearly full plate, punished for teasing. "Now that the water's near unlimited, I might just give your slow poke method another try. Remind myself what all the fuss is about."
