The school had ridiculous internet, and Mari's new computer was about the best money could buy, so at this point, the game was pretty much done downloading and installing. "Alright. So just double click on that icon on your desktop you'll be good to go."

Trev leaned into Mari far more than he needed to point out the icon, his cologne subtle but still nice.

"Yep," he said cheerfully, not moving away, though the position wasn't especially comfortable. "Then just put in your email address and a password, and then we'll put in that code I sent you, and then we'll just pick the same server as me, set up your character, and then we can play together," he smiled.

Trev leaned back a little bit, smiling, turning his head towards the laptops on his desk but scooting his chair a bit closer to Mari. "Okay. So pick one of these races on the left side--there's guys and girls of each race, and you can make them kinda look like whatever you like. And then you get to pick a class. Do you want to cast magic spells, shoot things with a bow, heal people, or fight with swords and stuff?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can," he nodded. "I'll find you a good one on the auction house and send it to you," he said, logging into his own laptop and booting up the game. "So, pick warrior--that button there. Yeah. And then you can kinda make your character look like whatever you want. You could get sorta close to your look by customizing a night elf enough, I think. I'll make a druid and we can play together," he smiled.

Damnit. Should have just kissed her then. Or should I have? Fuck. I suck at this still.

They smiled nervously at each other for what seemed like an eternity. It was probably only about 20 seconds, but it felt longer because he couldn't seal the deal. He turned back to the laptops.

"Oh. That tree sprite is trying to eat you. You'd better fight back," he said pointing at her screen. Click it and press one and two on your keyboard to start swatting it with your staff and casting wrath at it.
