Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
Still rather grumbly from the rather messed up previous day, Connor was putting up a sign declaring Victoria and Callie (with a picture snapped that left little question as to WHY) banned from the premises for a month. "Bloody witches..."
"Oh, thought of that. They seemed to think I was just bein' a hard-ass because I wasn't the one they were... well, you get the point. Bloody self-absorbed harpies."
"...Gonna need ta remind you that people like us aren't exactly popular with the preachers right now, luv," he said, sliding a Black Velvet across the bar to her.
"Not Christianity, duh." Isabel said "In highschool, I knew these girls who were Wiccan, and it sounded kinda cool. So I've been reading about it, and I've decided to start praying to Brigit."
Connor just looked at her for a moment. THen, resisting the urge to roll his eyes, he turned to get another glass. "If that's what makes you happy, luv."
"Doesn't mean there is, either," he said. "'M not saying I'm right," he added, holding up a hand. "But I know who and what got me where I am today. Good and bad."
Connor nodded and sighed. "Got me there," he said. "Never felt any less lonely when I was little and the nuns were telling me ta just talk to Jesus to make it all right, though."
"Luv, I don't know if he does or doesn't, or if your new girlfriend will or won't... still doesn't change how we're wired. Some point you're still going to feel like you're talking to yourself and just playin' pretend to make yourself feel better."
"'S all right, luv," Connor said. "You do what you need ta do. What does a bartender know, anyway?" he said with a smirk, starting to dry the glasses again.
