Gemma leaned over, grabbed the front of Trev's shirt, and pulled him into a kiss.

Trev flailed for a moment, almost knocking over his drink as he got pulled across the table, but steadied himself and melted into the kiss, letting his lips linger on hers for as long as she cared to let them.

Once they were done, he sat back down (accompanied by a few drunken, well-meaning cat calls from across the bar) still red but smiling like an idiot.

"Um. Yes. That's what I was trying to ask."

"Well...okay," he smiled. "You're right. I...well I just stress out about things sometimes. Especially women who can kick my ass or light me on fire, and especially when they are reminding me not to screw everything up with a girl I'm absolutely crazy about."

Trev realized he was rambling again and shut himself up with a long drink of his cider.

"Sorry."

A smirking waitress who apparently overheard much of his rant shook her head at Trev as she sat down a huge platter of appetizers--wings, several dips and crisps, chips, potato skins, and some sort of mini tacos.

Trev smirked. "I tried escaping for a little while to the real world, but people were assholes to me, and I missed the shenanigans."

"Plus being in the real world sort of meant giving up on doing anything to really grow or develop my powers. And the thought of being able to fly is kinda cool. Which I have to keep reminding myself as I repeatedly fall flat on my face from varying heights in the danger room."

"It is nice though. Feels like I'm never unarmed if stuff does start to go down. Know that from experience getting jumped at my last school."

Some time later, when much of the food was picked through and another round of drinks or two had been consumed, Trev caught himself staring across the table dreamily. "You want to go for a walk?"

"So...what's the best way to do this?" he asked looking up at her. "Never had a chance to fly with a dragon before," he smiled.
