Sept 23rd - Ship and Anchor

[Kara Vanderbilt]

Kara chuckles. "If you wanna give that a pass just leave it for me."

[Theresa McMasters]

Theresa looked at the glass again and scooted it towards Kara with a cough. "Yeah, I'd probably better leave that to you."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Sure thing. So what's going on with you, how's the college experience treating you?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"Pretty good. Dating again has been kind of strange and trying to wrap my head around some of the college courses I'm taking. And fuck English class."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Hah, that's Weaver, right? You are so boned. But hey, good on you for getting some." she grins. "How long have you two been going out?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"Only a couple of weeks, but it feels like there's this connection. Something special."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"That's pretty wicked. You think she's the one?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"I don't know. Maybe? It's hard to say, but I'm trying to trust my gut on this."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"I'm a big proponent of just rolling with it. Who knows what's gonna happen down the road, what's important is that you're happy now."

[Theresa McMasters]

"I am happy now for the most part. And there are a couple of people at the school who could give you some idea of what could happen down the road, but thinking too much about precognition just makes my head hurt."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"So? Even if it's not meant to be forever, who gives a shit. All knowing about it would do is ruin it now. Screw the future."

[Theresa McMasters]

"You say that 'now'," she quipped.

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Well yeah. It's gonna be now then and then the future can still go screw itself because then the future is gonna be later. So until then is now I don't care." she chuckles.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Truly a deep philosophy," she chuckled.

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Hey, I never claimed to be deep!" she grins.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Thanks goodness for being a 'stupid teenager', right?" She grinned and started on her second beer.

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"I believe the term is now stupid freshmen, thank you very much." she laughs.

[Theresa McMasters]

"Some of us are still technically teenagers," she said with a laugh, "But stupid freshmen is a better catch-all."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Really? How old are you?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"18, almost 19," she said with a shrug. "You're not in trouble for buying me alcohol if that's what you're worried about," she added with a smirk.

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Pff, beer's for 16 year olds and you turned down the hard stuff anyway." she smirks. "But I keep forgetting that highschool ends earlier for you guys. Well plus I spend a year screwing around."

[Theresa McMasters]

"And to be honest, growing up with this shit has a way of aging you a bit prematurely in some respects," she says, "But yeah, straight out of high school into university for me."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Any plans for a major yet?"

[Theresa McMasters]

"Superhero work eventually. Maybe I'll teach after college. I may just go somewhere and set myself up as a goddess and live large. I'm keeping my options open at the moment."

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Cool. I could use a training buddy for the X-Team stuff. Straight career-heroism for me."

[Theresa McMasters]

"How conductive are those whips of yours?"

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Hmm, you know, I've never tried."

[Theresa McMasters]

"We could set up and experiment sometime. I promise not to kill you." She grinned.

[Kara Vanderbilt]

"Oh, well in that case I already feel much safer." she laughs and knocks back her whiskey.
