Miranda briefly looks like she wants to agree but can't bring herself to. "Spoken like someone who's actually had the opportunity to be normal," she finally said, pulling a long skirt off the rack and holding it up to waist.

"Cool." she says and browses around while she waits for Miranda to pay. The cashier seems keep bit of an eye on Zephyr as he deals with Miranda, apparently thinking Miranda might be a distraction for the other girl to steal stuff. He never says anything though and soon they're on their way to Madison Heights.

Zephyr's phone buzzes as they're walking and she pulls it out to glance at the text message. She types a quick response and looks back up at Miranda. "Oh hey, you want my phone number? You know, in case you wanna hang?"

"Awesome!" she says, exchanging numbers as they arrive at the parking lot at Madison Heights. A handful of teenagers are hanging around, some of which seem to recognize Zephyr and wave at her. One of them instead seems to be staring daggers at Miranda's new friend, which is helped by the fact that the girl seems to have eyes that almost look like they're smoldering, even from this distance.

"Dunno, you'll have to ask her yourself!" Zephyr shouts back and rolls her eyes as she turns back to Miranda. "Just ignore her, she's alright but she can be kind of a pain in the ass sometimes."

"But yeah, this is where we I hang out a bunch. They got a bowling alley and a rollerskating rink, but we mostly just chill in the rec room. It has music and a foosball table. And billiard but you gotta pay for that one." she say as she leads Miranda inside. The room is a little dirty just from a bunch of teenagers using it regularly and the couches and chairs look very used but seem passable. There's an old CRT TV set up with a bunch of cables showing where stuff might get hooked up.

Zephyr throws herself onto one of the couches. "This place technically belongs to the city but no one really bugs us here."

Miranda settled into one of the couches, though at a considerably slower speed than Zephyr. She takes a moment to settle, trying to find a comfortable position for her wings. "People bug you often?"

"It's a good place with good people. It's a school. There's really not much way to get around that, but we get to learn about how to use our powers and experiment with them and that's kind of fun."

"Well, yeah, but it's a safe place and the rules aren't particularly strict. My parents work there though, so my rules are probably more strict than most of the other students."
