That's around the time that some yelling breaks out either in the hall or right in front of the main entrance. If Miranda's mind snaps to it she might catch a glimpse of the black-haired girl with the burning eyes arguing with a young man, maybe in his mid-twenties, who is holding a silver briefcase of some kind. They're standing just in front of the main entrance and the girl has her fists clenched at her side, a dangerous shimmer of heat-distortion around her.

"Maybe you would care for a little sample, huh?" she sneers at the man who seems to either be unaware or unimpressed by the imminent show of force.

"I don't think I do. Is that what all the shouting is about? How can you tell?" Zephyr asks, sitting up a bit straighter in case she has to get up.

"We should probably--" she says before she is interrupted by a loud *fwoush* sound that causes her to jump up and run for the door. If she's still watching Miranda sees Char discharging a huge bout of flame that is only vaguely aimed or controlled, knocking the man several feet away and to the floor with smoldering clothes.

Miranda runs after her, making for the man to see if he's okay. "Are you alright?"

The man looks like he really shouldn't be, judging by the state of his clothes, but he is getting up only swaying a little bit. Instead of showing any burns his skin briefly shimmers with a silvery sheen that dissipates as he stands up.

"Kids today have no respect anymore." he says and Miranda gets a flash of precognition that barely precedes the man's movement, in effect letting her see him rush forward and punch Char in the shoulder, followed by a punch to the gut that sends her sprawling. To the naked, non-precognitive eye he just flashes forward and Char is knocked down.

He keeps walking and for a moment raises his hand towards his ear almost reflexively. The gesture seems strangely familiar. That train of thought is quickly interrupted by Char though who finally managed to pull herself off of the ground. "Man, can we just let that ass walk away like that?" she complains to nobody in particular, alleviating her bruised ego.

"Hand out drugs like some kind of dipshit. Didn't think he'd be a mutant..." she grouses. "Woulda kicked his ass if I'd known what to expect. He had a bunch of weird vials in that suitcase. Sure as fuck didn't look like any drug I've ever seen."

Zephyr and Char might get the impression that Miranda's eyes had narrowed in the direction the man had left. "He's certainly fast."

Miranda pondered that for a bit. "I could try. Never used it like that before." She knelt down next to where the man had been standing after he'd hit Char, sorting through the psychic impressions until she found one that felt like him. Then she started sorting through her futures, confusing as they were, trying to see where she might go in a future where she found him or at least another impression of him again.

Glimpses and impressions slip past Miranda, often too blurry or short to reveal much, but after a while an image swims into focus. The man is standing near a large garage door or loading dock of some sort, talking to another man. In the distance her view grows blurry and shifts in constant motion of a slow back and forth. A seagull's cry pierces through the vision and it cuts out.

Zephyr leads them to the docks through a couple narrow back-roads and, at one point, over a chain-link fence and across an empty lot full of weeds. When they round a corner out onto the harbor it looks relatively empty. Miranda can see the warehouse with the big door that she'd seen but no one else seems to be around. That is, until a man stumbles into view from one of the alleyways. He looks pale and sweaty, almost as if he's running a fever. It's not the man with the briefcase but he looks like the person he had been talking to in her vision. He walks along the wall for a moment, using it for support before taking a couple steps out into the open.
