Power Control - Hard Decisions

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

Miranda picked up on Kay's mope and turned to look at her while saying, "Mr. Gabriel, did you say this was a harbor?"

"Yeah, sometimes pipelines run under water." Vertie said as she gestured to the holo harbor section of the area.

"OMG I feel like such a douche, roomie, I didn't even see you sitting in the back there." Haley mindspoke to Kay, sending her basically a mental image of an embarrassed emoji.

"And part of your grade is on not being disruptive to the efforts," Ryan put in, narrowing his eyes slightly at the group. "If you fail, you fail. This is a simulation. No one's going to die or get blown up, even fake people." He nodded toward the door and its easily-operated controls. "I'll be monitoring. Let's see what you all do to handle this." God, I hope they can do this without trying to kill each other, he thought as he headed into the cockpit to let them to it.

Alex ignored the drama and, trying to be all professional and impressive, walked over to the door and opened it.

Naturally, he found himself look at at something like a 20-story drop to the ground. Whoa. "So... um... doesn't look like they're hurrying to land this thing."

"I can certainly try," she said, seeming to zone out a little bit as she tried to send her sight out to look for a place that was relatively clear and didn't seem to have any immediate hazards in it.

Assuming that Miranda's powers decided to cooperate with her, she'd see that the closest promising location was a parking lot that was only lightly covered with debris, short ways behind the plane. It didn't seem that it would keep them trapped in, and it would provide them with a reasonably smoke-free area to plan further.

Miranda looked around to get a good sense of where the space was and then reached for Paul. "Here, let me know if this is good enough," she said as she tried to give him the image of where the location was in relation to the plane.

"I... think so," he said. It felt trippy, but he could manage. He used the door of the plane for their end of the portal, and from what he could see through it, it certainly seemed to be the spot Miranda had indicated. "Okay, hurry, everyone," he said.

Alex was still flesh, surprisingly, as he hit the ground on the other side of the portal. He looked around, then walked over to a chunk of debris and grabbed a piece of rebar, turning to the construction-grade steel and starting to absorb what he could find around them as they got situated.

Haley floated upwards with her TK, visions of her daydreamed x-uniform (of course it has a cape) filling her head as she surveyed the area looking for anything that might lead them towards a leak to seal.

Vertie would be able to find a bit of wildlife, mostly mice and rats, and all of it fairly well dug into the rubble. They seemed to be set up in little dens away from the fires and a few other patches in the area.

Graham would be able to smell a lot of smoke at the moment, but not much else from this position. He COULD, however, smell that the harbor seemed to smell especially fishy, especially to cut through the smell of the fires.
