Danger Room - Memories Won't Leave Me Behind

[Allison Rogers]

After getting back to the Institute on Sunday, Allison had retreated to the Danger Room. She needed to work off some of the frustration from the kidnapping that she'd been keeping bottled up. So now she was beating the ever-living hell out of, of all things, a ninja dressed in black and blue. Her opponent threw ice at her and Allison caught the bolt on one hand and then slammed it into her opponent's face, knocking him to the floor of the small arena they were in. He didn't get up and a deep voice said, "Pride wins!" On the wall, Allison's picture moved up a bracket and she moved off to one side of the arena while the computer simulated a combat between two more people on the tournament bracket.

[Deirdre Quinn]

Dee snorts in the observation deck.

"Since when do you have a code name?"

[Allison Rogers]

"Holdover from my X-Corp days. They assigned me a small security detail during one case and the detail gave me a codename. They thought they were being cute. Those things are harder to expunge from a file than anything else, so I figured I'd just roll with it," she said from where she was leaning against a pillar, watching the current match.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"So I'm not going to find a costume in your closet."

[Allison Rogers]

"No, because I'm wearing it right now," she said, motioning to her training uniform.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Not nearly flamboyant enough. I'll have to get out the airbrush and put a design on it while you're out."

[Allison Rogers]

One of the characters defeated the other and the tournament bracket altered. Another fight went into simulation as it finished out the row. "Well, at least you're preemptively admitting to it," she said with a chuckle. "The room is open, by the way, you can come in if you'd like."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"As if you'd ever believe me if I tried to blame the students," she smirks, heading down the stairs and into the Danger Room proper.

[Allison Rogers]

"Impromptu kidnapping aside, this was a nice weekend. We should do something like it again sometime."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"It was nice, even if you've needed stress relief from your stress relief," she says, gesturing around.

[Allison Rogers]

"Some things take other methods to work out," she said, shrugging. "At least he's going back to jail and I'm sure he'll be stuffed into one of several dark holes."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Suppose this is our equivalent of meeting the family, eh?"

[Allison Rogers]

"If you're really ready to meet my dad, I could bring him over for a visit," she said with a smirk.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Unless he's going to hold me at gunpoint, I can't imagine it would be worse."

[Allison Rogers]

"He'd probably expect us to go on motorcycle rides with him," she said with a chuckle. She frowned as ninja clad in yellow and black finished off his opponent and his picture moved up next to Allison's on the bracket, "Well, shit." She looked up at the ceiling, "Really, computer?"

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Not a fan of ninjas?"

[Allison Rogers]

"Fucker throws fire," she said walking back out into the arena. He apparently liked doing it to, as Allison had to dodge several flaming projectiles and a grappling hook of some sort before she got in close. At that point, the match turned decidedly in her favor and she came back to the side with only slightly singed fur and some rapidly healing bruises and cuts.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Now I know how you feel when I come back smelling like an arc welder."

[Allison Rogers]

"Yeah, singed fur isn't the greatest smell ever," she said, leaning back against the column. "So, you think you're ready to meet my dad?"

[Deirdre Quinn]

"I'm going to regret opening my mouth on that one, aren't I?"

[Allison Rogers]

Allison smiled, "I'm not pushing anything. I know what I'd like, but there's no good reason to rush things if it's going to damage 'us'. That applies to Dad, moving in together, or anything else for that matter."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Well you're a lawyer. Of course you like... formality," she smirks.

[Allison Rogers]

"I do feel better when there's a certain order to things."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Still, I get the impression he'd fuss you more about fairies and mobsters than anything else."

[Allison Rogers]

"Mostly for letting myself get beat up and kidnapped. 'That's not how I raised you.'"

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Takes all the strangeness in stride, does he?"

[Allison Rogers]

"I think finding the lion in the kitchen when I was thirteen cured him of skepticism in regards to the "unusual"," she said with a chuckle.

[Deirdre Quinn]

"It's good when they can get it out of their systems early on."

[Allison Rogers]

"And when I went to work for X-Corp... well, it's not your standard legal department."

[Deirdre Quinn]

"Things like that are why I hid my powers for as long as I could."

[Allison Rogers]

Allison nodded, "A lot of people need defending in different ways. I was there when legal means worked. For other things, there were field teams and the X-Men."
