The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.
Victoria rolled her eyes. "Something like that. Mistress told us to impress her. Left it vague like that. Naturally, if you tell a class to pick their project, someone's going to pick something completely bloody stupid."
Victoria smiled and patted Will on the cheek. "Nothing as stupid as his, darling. Now... I think you'll be wanting me to find this dagger and see what all needs undoing?"
"That's probably a good start. I'd love to hear more about what your...mistress' plans were on all this, letting an idiot like that loose on the city."
"Probably the same as when she lets me loose," Victoria said. "If he can't handle power, he wouldn't survive in the Hellfire Club. Honestly, I might not even bother with my project since he proved that he's an utter idiot who can't be trusted managing a lemonade stand." She considered it. "Although that does show a touch of laziness, so I'd probably better still do it anyway. It's nice to have less pressure, though."
"I've always had a sweet tooth. Something about chocolate makes me at ease.
But I'll stop beating around the bush. This...contest has threatened a lot of innocent people. I trust you, fully, to help correct all of this and that you won't try to take over London or something, but I'd like to get to the bottom of this. If your mistress is anything like you, I can't believe she'd be dumb enough to let this joker loose without knowing exactly what he'd try to do."
"No, I'm fairly sure she didn't have a hand in this. If she had any idea he had something like this in mind, making me aware of who my competition was, or that I even have competition is probably her way of handling it." She fixed Will with a look. "She is not an angle you want to pursue. It'd be like finding out Doctor Doom was vaguely aware and trying to shake him down, only less possible, I think."
