I1DT - Time, It Took Us

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda sat on the end of one of the small docks, her physical gaze cast out over the water. She was wearing one of her hoodies again with the hood pulled down over her eyes. She sighed and shoved her hands into the hoodie's pockets and ignored the occasional sprays of water.

[Kay Haddock]

"There you are. I've been looking all over for you." Kay says as she walks up to where Miranda is sitting. Despite the somewhat chilly weather she's wearing a thin blouse and a skirt, apparently insistent on making the summer last. "Mind if I sit down?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Go for it," Miranda said, gesturing to the place where Kay had intended to sit.

[Kay Haddock]

Kay shakes her head a little. It always spooks her a little when Miranda does something like that, even though she realizes that it shouldn't. "You look kinda bummed out..." she says, sitting down next to her. "Everything alright?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"Had a fight with Mom. Apparently I'm not supposed to keep secrets, but it's perfectly alright for her to keep them." She sighs, "You look nice."

[Kay Haddock]

"Thanks... That sounds like a lot of bollocks." she says with the pronunciation of someone who is trying to pick up a new word because it's 'British' and cool and sounding kind of silly. "Parents can be pretty dumb sometimes. Guess that's kinda new to you, huh?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"I thought I would be used to it by now, but it always still gets me just how asinine it can be. It'll pass. It has to."

[Kay Haddock]

"Guess I never really thought about it. Parents just make the rules, nobody asks if they're good rules. And your Mom kinda scares me enough in class already, you're kinda brave for standing up to her."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I'm glad someone agrees with me. I doubt Mum does. She was there, so she's probably mad that I stormed out or something ridiculous. Guessing I won't have any family obligations for a while."

[Kay Haddock]

"Parents just don't get it. Which is weird, cause they were young once too, right?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"A long time ago, yeah. Maybe they've forgotten what it was like."

[Kay Haddock]

"Maybe. Still, lame. But at least they can't ground you, right?" she smiles awkwardly.

[Miranda Weaver]

"They haven't tried it yet. Might not stop them from trying it though. I'm not seeing that in the future though."

[Kay Haddock]

"Well bollocks that. You wanna watch a movie or listen to some music or something? Take your mind off of things?"

[Miranda Weaver]

"I suppose. I'm not doing anything but sitting down here. Pre-emptive apology if I'm bad company."

[Kay Haddock]

"I dunno if that's doing your thing or not, but it's alright. At least you can mope over some hot chocolate or something." she smiles.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Hot chocolate sounds good. I think they've started leaving it out in the cafeteria, so we can help ourselves."

[Kay Haddock]

"Yeah, but it's empty sometimes. Besides, it's better when you make it with milk and this sounds like a job for the good stuff." she smiles.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Okay then. I'll go with your expert opinion," she says, managing a smile.

[Kay Haddock]

"Excellent! Because I'm an expert on moping. Phd MD Haddock, Esquire. Leading world authority on moping and all moping related activities. And also Tumblr."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I meant about the hot chocolate, silly," Miranda said, smiling a little more.

[Kay Haddock]

"That is merely one of the many research areas in the field of moping." she nods sagely. "There's pillow-forts, lots of testing in the effectiveness of pouting and the ice-cream/Netflix correlation."

[Miranda Weaver]

"I think we should explore the ice cream/Netflix correlation. It sounds like a great secondary area of study."

[Kay Haddock]

"Sounds like a collaboration is in the works." she smiles and gets up, holding out her hand to Miranda.

[Miranda Weaver]

Miranda nods, "Certainly sounds like an arrangement." She grabbed Kay's hand and pulled herself to her feet.

[Kay Haddock]

"Awesome." she smiles.

[Miranda Weaver]

"Great. Lead the way then."
