The screen on the Danger Room indicated that only a portion of it was in use. A look through the door or from the observation deck would show the truth of the statement. A portion of the room was simulating a small dojo area and Miranda seemed to be practicing some repetitive sequences with a staff, adjusting her form slightly as the generated master corrected her with a tap of his own staff on whatever happened to be out of alignment.
