The ice began to glow a bit as Natalya tried to piece that together. "And to do that, I have to warm up."

****
Outside, Natalya's body temperature began to rise very slowly. The two constructs looked at each other again and then melded back into her forearms.

"I think you know I can handle myself. I just need you not to lash out at Stan and the other doctors."

"I imagine it's going to hurt a whole hell of a lot, but I'll do my best." The ice was melting away as Natalya slowly uncurled.

Stan moved closer to the observation window, looking for any changes.

"Going to have to take your shot soon, Stan." She sent to him. "I don't know how long she can hold this."

Natalya's temperature was moving up a bit more now and her brain was becoming more active. As her temperature increased, the parts of her brain that responded to pain began to spike and her fingers started to twitch.

In her mind, the ice was melting off of things, though some of it seemed to be a fixture of the place.

get her to warm up.. The medical team can't operate unless her temperature rises.. We can regulate her temperature from out here.

As the temperature raised, the anesthesiologist moved in, starting the process of applying the anesthesia.

"It's working," she said to Natalya as she stepped back to give her room.

"I'll admit, this isn't how I wanted to see you again."

"We can talk about that when..." All the monitors on all the desks turned on simultaneously and Natalya visibly winced. "Good god, remind me not to..." Then the anesthesia started taking over and her mind representation tottered. "Yeah... later..." Her last words were kind of slurred.

Stan leaned back, wiping his brow.
