I10 Aftermath - Debriefing

Postby Samantha McManus » Mon Apr 16, 2012 7:24 pm

Both war rooms were teleconferenced together, once the wounded were seen to and other concerns addressed. Ms. McManus waited for those who were going to attend.

Zeryn was in... well, rough shape, but not complaining. He'd had several wounds stitched up, and had been treated for the aftermath of the electrocution he'd received. One thing he wasn't sporting were bandages, meaning that the stitches were visible under the sheen of water covering his body as he, very carefully, took a seat in the New York war room.

On the London end, Cassiel came in, fresh from a round of rather unpleasant calls of ambassadorial duty. He looked weary, but resolved.

Victoria sashayed into the London war room, sitting back comfortably after the rather large meal she'd had making up for her run-in with Famine.

Natalya and Nate were in the Salem war room as well. Nate was leaning back in one of the corners. "Keahi's still riding herd on the student body and allaying parental concerns. She'll make it if she can, but I wouldn't count on it," he said to Sam.

Wanda was sitting, her arm in a sling, but her shoulder a more normal shape now.

Rick sat down in the New York war room. He was largely recovered at this point, other than a couple of acid burns from Famine on his forehead and neck that were also healing nicely.

Regardless of that, he still looked grim.

Ross walked into the London war room, looking around nervously (like before), before taking the first empty seat he could find and trying to look invisible.

Kaylee entered in shortly after Marcus, finding a seat not too far from the other two. She stared down at the floor blankly.

Sean took a seat in the New York war room. He looked rather worn out, but that's what extended periods of heavy magic use will do to you.

I10 Aftermath - Debriefing

Postby Stephanie Kaltiera » Mon Apr 16, 2012 9:05 pm

Trev sat in the London war room next to Stephanie, a pair of crutches leaning against the back of his chair.

Stephanie looked like hell, her uniform still stained with blood, her shoulder heavily bandaged, and her arm in a makeshift sling.

"Alright," she said to those assembled.

"For starters, we have managed to apprehend all four Horsemen. Regardless of whatever promises led them down the primrose path, all and sundry were significantly mentally manipulated. They will be kept secured until we can fully verify any programming is no longer present. In Pestilence's case, we will also be keeping her quarantined until we can reliably determine she is no longer holding any diseases within her."

Cassiel spoke up at this point. "There's been significant international chatter on the subject. Much of the curiosity about who the Horsemen were is being pushed aside by gentle hints of 'do you want Genoshan aid getting the aftermath cleared up? Then let's not ask that question.' At the very least, it'll buy a bit of time before questions need to be answered."

"SHIELD knows what Apocalypse does. They'll run some interference, make a few things happen to see that those questions possibly aren't asked again. If they are... well, there are several ways we can play it. That call would be for loftier heads than mine, though..."

"There are routes we can take to prove mental manipulation. Third-party evaluation, for one. If it comes to it, we can make our case in court."

"The school is currently getting inundated with calls from furious parents. We're fending them off, but the truth of the matter is we're not staffed to repel Apocalypse class threats anymore and the parents who are in the know can smell blood in the water."

"Then assure them that just as we helped defend the school, we intend to see to the safety of our sister institution on a more permanent basis."

"Assuming, of course, the headmistress is amenable to this."

Natalya didn't address Zeryn's comment, but instead gave him a 'you and I will talk later' look. "We'll discuss it and you might want to formally discuss it with her, but I'm sure she will be. I know I'd give it my recommendation assuming that all the details were ironed out."

"I'll make sure to talk it over with her. Don't think of it as any commentary on your personal abilities," she said with a sympathetic look to Zeryn, "but rather that we want to give you the resources you need."
