Not even his shielding would keep Kyra from feeling that it gave him a rush to hear her actually call him that, or that he felt that he'd still be incredibly tactless to push the fact too much right now. Nevertheless, it did make him smile. "Hello, Kyra," he said, relaxing his mind a little. "I hadn't seen you since classes started... I wanted to make sure everything was starting out all right."

Cassiel's psychic shielding was fluid and flawless, simply cancelling out any emotional response anyone would have to him, so that no one would remember seeing him later any more than they'd recall that the dustbin on the corner was there. He'd even manage to slip under Kyra's notice until he was making very obviously good time at catching her. And I wonder... do you even know where we're going? the teasing thought came.

Kyra smirked and managed to send him a mental image of the restaurant, although doing so let her shields slip. She got them back into place before anyone noticed her, but it was a close thing.

Didn't even feel you getting it from my mind. Not bad, Cassiel answered. Then, reaching under her shields very carefully, he began to tap into her own elation at flying to boost his own speed.

Kyra didn't notice at first. When she did, rather than waste the concentration trying to block him, she just used her irritation to help her fly faster.

As she did, he gently nudged her attention so that she could notice a conduit she could use while he was drawing power from her so that she could do the same to him... or really, to anyone who managed to sneak in under her shields.

And then, he was gone. Look as she might, she couldn't find where he was in the sky.

And as she looked, a subtle push was made to keep her mind from noticing as her course was pushed to the North... not an extreme change, but enough to cost her distance when the shortest path to the restaurant was a straight airborn line.
