After a rather enjoyable dinner, Derek was walking Chloe back to her apartment, the fact that she'd double booked him rather lost from his mind.

He smiled. "I'm just glad we got to get out. And that we could actually really have a date," he said. Okay... took her to dinner... she was teasing you... doesn't mean you're going in. Get that through your head, have some respect for the girl, stop picturing her legs- crap.

He smiled at her, somewhat suspecting that an invitation in wasn't coming. Or worse, that she was feeling like she had to. God, this is weird. Oh well... can't go making her feel bad about it. He kept his smile on his face and squeezed her hand. Ah, hell, at least this much should be allowed... he thought as he leaned in to kiss her.

"Goodnight, Chloe," he answered, wrapping his arms tight around her, too. He sounded a little disappointed, because really, who wouldn't be, but managed to not sound upset or surprised. Still, he didn't seem inclined to let go of her until she made a move to move away.

Derek wrapped his arm around her tight, giving the wordless approval for... well, everything. He stroked his fingers down the back of her head, hoping he wasn't pushing her too fast without knowing it, not sure if he should stop or go or what to think at all.
