Bug Hunt: Monarch Park

[Nina Madaraki]

Nina's scythe disintegrated into a cloud of black butterflies that slowly fell apart. A moment later the golden butterflies in the park did the same.

Nina wiped tears from her face.

"Sorry," Nina says, "For everything."

Ryan wasn't sure what was to say to that. That it was all okay? That wouldn't be up to him, really. That he forgave her? With all the craziness, he wasn't sure he should be blaming her for anything. So really...

He just nodded. "Let's go home," he said quietly.

Nina just nods, letting herself be led away. And if that's in handcuff's, so be it.

Ryan looked at the cops as they walked out. "Body's back in there," he said. "We'll have a cleanup crew come get it... it's hard to tell if it's going to be dangerous to handle."
