DT 10: A normal date. For real this time. I hope.

Postby Trev Anderson » Wed May 30, 2012 12:48 am

Trev led Chloe into a small restaurant that had gotten pretty decent reviews online. It looked like some sort of Asian fusion, and they seemed to have a pretty decent selection of vegetarian items on the menu, so Trev hoped that the pace would work pretty well for Chloe. His date.

Date? How the hell did he wind up doing this again? The last time he asked out a girl she made an ass out of him in public and then turned into one of the Horsemen of the Apocalyspse, so really, he was hoping for ANYTHING better than that this time around.

"So, the reviews said this place was pretty good. I'm hoping they don't turn me into a liar," he smiled.

"That's usually a good sign, yes," he grinned.

Trev was wearing a pair of trendy jeans and a black button down shirt, and even showed up at Choe's door with a single rose. The host took them to a small table in a corner and took some drink orders before leaving them alone.

Chloe was wearing a light purple dress, very simple, but very flattering "you look nice." she said, smiling at Trev.

"Thanks," he smiled, "you look fantastic. Really like the color of that skirt...Dress. ...uh. Honestly...What's the difference between the two?" Trev asked with a chuckle.

"I'll try to brush up on women's fashion for next time," he smirked.

A waiter came and took their drink orders, and returned fairly quickly with their glasses.

"Here's to a fun night," he toasted.

"Yelp said the Mai Tais were pretty much the best in town," he nodded in agreement. "I'd say they weren't too off base. This is damn tasty. Any thoughts on the menu? And how hungry are you? A bunch of the appetizers sound really good."

"Well I guess that answers a question I had saved for later," he chuckled.

The waiter came and took their order--pretty much every appetizer on the menu--and left them again.

"So...I haven't scared you off yet and you might actually want a second date?" he grinned--somewhat nervously.

"That depends." Chloe said "If it involves candles I'd say leave it until the fourth date, but a tasteful scrap book would be fine for the first date. Unless its not a joke, and then I'm going to run away right now."

"Maybe you just like free meals from a fat guy--I mean, you've gotta trust my taste in food at least," he chuckled.

"Thank you for this, by the way. It's been one hell of a summer so far, so being able to just go out and enjoy myself in the company of a charming, funny, and very pretty girl is a treat."

"I can drink to that," he smiled, hefting his glass again.

The food came not all that long later, and the waiter had a pretyt hard time fitting all of the serving dishes on the table. While there was a fair amount of food, it wasn't far too much--there was just not nealry enough room for all of the plates on the table.

"Try the spring rolls. They're fantastic," Trev suggested after a swallow.

Some time later, they'd at least made an impressive dent in the food they got.

"You save any room for dessert? I found a couple places that sounded good if so," Trev asked cheerfully.

"I think I'm feeling ice cream a bit more than cake. Feel like it takes up less room, you know?" he chuckled. "Do we want pretty good and moderately healthy sorbet/frozen yogurt, or do we want the good stuff that's going to destroy my diet, but be totally worth it?"

"Well then," he grinned, "I like your style, Miss Grant. I like it indeed."

Trev left some cash on the table with the bill, including a decent-sized tip, which he honestly couldn't remember if was culturally appropriate in England, but at that point he was eager for a walk through the nice evening air with a cute girl at his side. Hell, maybe there'd be some hand-holding.

And hopefully, there'd be no crotch-grabbing or extremely public humilation unlike his last dates.

Score!!!

Trev accepted her hand gladly, but not too eagerly to seem creepy. He pulled out his phone with his free hand and looked up where they were going. He showed Chloe, where he was thinking of taking them. "If you have any suggestions for shortcuts or scenic routes, let me know. I still barely know where the hell I'm going without GPS," he chuckled.
