Raven smiled as Kim started her dance, manipulating the poppet to suggest more extreme movements, as she continued to spiel off her incantation.

"Hear my words from Moon to Moon, cite the Lord and Lady's rune. By the law of three times three, bring our warriors back to me."

And Kim started dancing more vigorously. Or as vigorously as one can dance with bare feet in the middle of the forest.

Raven finished up her incantation, and rose with one candle.

"Kimberly, grab a candle."

"Okay!" she hops over to the closest candle and picks it up, holding it with both hands and outstretched arms.

Raven stepped forward with her own candle, placing it in Kim's other hand, and then went to pick up the rest of the candles.

"We offer you, oh spirits, one final proof of our devotion to you, to ensure the safe return of our friends."

Kim just stands there expectantly, only barely seeming to notice when the candles drip some wax onto her hands.

Raven ended up placing two more candles in each of Kim's hands, and instructing her to hold them out to either side. She then had her tilt her head up, and placed the last candle in her mouth, pointing straight up to the heavens.

"We beseech thee, oh spirits, to listen to our plea, and to pass the message along to, um, whatever spirits are on the other planets where our friends might be."

She pulled out a piece of paper and began to recite one last poem, in a totally awesome language she had made up years ago. It would take about five minutes, before she would finish and let Kim relax.

"Yes. Relax, put the candles out, and place them down, and then return," she said, slipping the poppet away.

She does as told and her eye-lids flutter for a moment.

"Do you think it worked?"
