Wolf In People's Clothing (Open)

[Nathaniel Davis]

A rather unassuming man was seated on one of the benches. Dressed in a black t-shirt, jeans, and sandals, he ran a hand through his grey flecked hair and leaned back, resting his arms on the back of the bench. All he seemed to be doing was watching the grounds.

[Sooraya Qadir]

A swirl of dust came into view, and stopped in front of the bench. A moment later, a woman wearing a burka, her face covered by a veil was sitting beside him "Hello, Nate." she said "Decided to check things out two legged?"

[Nathaniel Davis]

"No sense in scaring the kids yet. I'll save that for Halloween. Besides, the weather's nice."

[Sooraya Qadir]

"It is." she replied "Ready for the new semester?"

[Nathaniel Davis]

"As ready as I have to be. My only job is to keep Keahi sane and help Security if they need it, so that's fairly easy. Might have to make some trips out of country at some point, but they've back-burnered me for active assignments right now. You?"

[Sooraya Qadir]

"Writing a bunch of lesson plans, and mentally adjusting to not being the Muslim population of XI."

[Nathaniel Davis]

"How's that adjustment going?"

[Sooraya Qadir]

"Pretty well." Soorya replied "I think that her faith is helping her."

[Nathaniel Davis]

"Faith in something is generally helpful, especially at their age. Speaking from personal experience."

[Sooraya Qadir]

"I remember that too. It seems so long ago."

[Nathaniel Davis]

"Longer for some of us than others. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, some of the aspects of my faith didn't survive the transition to hero work."

[Sooraya Qadir]

"It isn't easy." she agreed "But what can we do besides trust God?"

[Nathaniel Davis]

"Easier said than done sometimes. Especially after some of the things we've seen."

"And that is when we need him the most."
