Issue 10 - The War Room - What Is It With This Place?

[Natalya Romanov]

Oddly enough, the first visible "response" to Ozymandias' proclamation had been that the lawn sprinklers had turned on at low flow... and then didn't turn off. Natalya and Nate had set up shop in the war room and were monitoring the security cameras and the various security systems on campus while Natalya sent out the following to all staff: "This is Ice Witch. All Institute X-Men are activated, please meet in the War Room. All dorm staff are advised to organize the students according to emergency procedures and get them to the designated safe rooms. No one is to go outside without authorization. That is all."

[Kevin Sydney]

"I'm telling ya," Morph said as he paced, "I could get in that ship."

[Natalya Romanov]

"The ancient asshole has given us twelve hours. I intend to make use of them," Natalya said. "And that means not starting a fight before we're ready to start a fight."

[Nathaniel Davis]

Nate had been having a heated, but quiet conversation with someone on the phone. Finally he tapped his earpiece, "X-Corp assets are out of position dealing with turmoil elsewhere. For now we're on our own."

[Kevin Sydney]

"Of course they are, the guy only set half the dang world on fire."

[Keahi Nimar-Davis]

"We can have this year's Senior Teams on standby." Keahi moved over beside Nate.

[Natalya Romanov]

"We know the London teams are out dealing or have dealt with what they think are the Horsemen, so unless he's changed his MO, we aren't looking at dealing with the Horsemen ourselves, just..." She brought up a still picture of the ship. "... an army of his minions, the ship, and Ozymandias and maybe the big man himself." She sighed.

[Keahi Nimar-Davis]

"Sure...send four against college aged adults...and an army against children..." She was growling and looking "fluffy".

[Kevin Sydney]

"These don't have quite the juice a Horseman does, trust me."

"Big man himself? Well, that's a different story."

[Natalya Romanov]

"The ship's my main concern since we don't know what sort of armament it's carrying. Ozymandias is a close second *if* he chooses to get involved. I think we can handle the minions. I'm not going to worry about the big man until I see his ugly face."

[Sooraya Qadir]

"I will do what I can to confuse them." Dust said.

[Natalya Romanov]

"Just make sure you leave the area near the sentry guns clear. Even funnel them that direction if you can." She pulled up a map of the grounds and began marking locations on it. "I'd like the teams stationed in these locations," she marked several locations inside the buildings. "All I want is for them to make sure that no one gets in the buildings. They are not to engage Ozymandias or Apocalypse if he appears, just alert us and get the hell out of the way. Firecat, Ghost, I want you two to help coordinate the defenses inside. Dust, Morph, you're going to be with me causing havoc outside. Anyone have any objections or suggestions? Now's the time to raise them."

"I have no objections." Dust replied.

"I'd say havoc is my middle name, but those Summers brothers get testy when you do that."
