I10DT - Asking for Permission

Postby Kay Haddock » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:30 am

What is it with all these students voluntarily showing up at the headmistress' office? This time it's Kay knocking on the door.

"I had stepped out on the sill for a moment, but I wasn't far. What can I do for you Kay?"

"Well... I was wondering... There's this camp out by the mountain lake and I thought if people wanted to it might make for a fun thing to do for a couple days to let everyone kinda forget about that whole attack thing and all and I already called them to see if they'd take mutants and Victoria said she'd come to supervise and that she'd ask if some of the X-men would come too to make sure things are okay cause I figured you wouldn't want to let a bunch of teenagers just run around by themselves." she says and finally stops to take a breath.

"That actually sounds like a good idea. If you can manage 1 chaperone of the appropriate gender for every 4 students going then you may have the permission slips for this trip. Would leaving Friday morning and staying to Tuesday evening be long enough?"

"I'll leave a note with the front office to have the slips ready for you. Now, you just have to convince your parents." She smiled.

"Unless they've given over guardianship to the school, I'm not sure how you or anyone will be able to go unless their parents give permission. I can call them and see on your behalf, but I don't recall the documentation crossing my desk."

"I don't have to tell them it's a camping trip, every school takes field trips. If they truly have no interest to be bothered with permission slips for every activitie that would take place off campus, then it would be easiest for them to give guardianship to the school for the remainder of your academic stay here." She smiled.

"There are other reasons for the transfer of guardianship. If you had been injured in the attack, we would not have been able to do anything for you other than give you a band-aid. If the school should ever need to be truly evacuated we would not be able to take you to the next secure location, you would be sent home. In the event the school needs to be evacuated, your home with your family is not the safest place for you or them."
