Getting out to smell the roses

[Daphne Rose]

"Sure, but you don't seem like a hypocrite, so that doesn't seem like a good verse to use. What's wrong with telling someone if they're wrong? I mean, maybe you're wrong. Maybe I'm wrong. How can we figure it out if we don't talk about it?"

[Violet Salu]

"Discussion is fine," Violet says, "I just don't like arguments."

"Besides, right and wrong aren't decided by discussion. It's all laid out in the Bible."

[Daphne Rose]

Daphne giggled. "So the bible says 'Violet is right and Daphne's wrong?'" she teased.

[Violet Salu]

"Well, no, it doesn't say that," Violet says, rolling her eyes.

[Daphne Rose]

"Well then how does it help us right now?"

[Violet Salu]

"It keeps me from arguing with you and lets me just enjoy our hike, for one," Violet says with a smile.

[Daphne Rose]

Daphne laughed, turning back around and falling in next to Violet. "I like you. I'm glad I stumbled into your room and not someone else's."

[Violet Salu]

"I'm not too crazy about the room thing, but I am glad I met you," Violet says, "You're nice."

[Daphne Rose]

"Yeah, I know what you mean, I'm not too crazy about the rooms either," she admitted. "Feels too... cold and impersonal," she said, making a little face. "But what can you expect from an institution's dormitories. Have to make the best of i- Oooh, there's the field!" Daphne skipped over to where the trees ended, then did a cartwheel out into the grass.

[Violet Salu]

"That's not what I-," Violet stops, just shaking her head.

"It's a nice field."

[Daphne Rose]

"Ahhhhh..." Daphne just fell backwards, laying in the grass, closing her eyes and breathing blissfully. "Thiiiis is more like it."

[Violet Salu]

Violet sits down next to Daphne, "Enjoying yourself?"

[Daphne Rose]

"Ohhhh yes," she said. "No pavement, no traffic, no power lines... thiiiissss is nice." Without looking she unzipped the backpack next to her and pulled out a rather large thermos and started rummaging around for glasses.

[Violet Salu]

"What's that?"

[Daphne Rose]

"Lemonade," she said, coming out with two well-used metal cups. "There we go!" she said popping open the thermos as she sat up. "Want some?"

[Violet Salu]

"Sure," Violet says, "Sounds good."
