Power: Thermokinesis; Salma has the power to control the flow of ambient heat. She can increase the temperature at a point by drawing out nearby heat and concentrating it in one location. Similarly, she can disperse heat from a point or location and cool it down. She also has the ability to create heat by increasing the motion between the molecules of matter, but this is a newer facet of her power that’s still very limited in strength and usefulness.

The area of effect of her power is limited to a few dozen yards, and it also limited by her field of vision. Additionally, following the first law of thermodynamics, when she draws ambient heat onto a point to increase its temperature, it does make the space from which she drew the heat colder, and vice versa.

Salma also has cybernetic prosthetics and implants. Her entire left leg up to her knee, as well as her forearm and elbow are robotic, and most of the skin and some muscle on the left side of her body as far up as part of her face has been replaced with cybernetic implants. Her power lets her “overclock” her cybernetics, even for extended periods, since she can instantly dump any heat build-up.

Personality: Due to past experience, Salma is careful and meticulous. She thinks everything through before she acts, and could probably use letting her hair down every once in a while.

Physical description: She stands at 5’3”. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes, with olive skin. A lot of her body is covered by cybernetic implants and replacements, though some of it is concealed to have the appearance of realistic skin.

Background: Salma was born in Nice, to a French father and Algerian mother. Not long after her power manifest itself in her early teens, she had the misfortune of being in a bank when several thieves began committing an armed robbery. Because she was too scared and nervous to keep completely quiet like the thieves demanded, one of them grabbed her and threatened to shoot. In a panic, she unleashed her powers on the man, searing the flesh from his bones. This also burned Salma’s skin severely, especially on the left side of her body, leaving her seemingly permanently hospitalized.

After this incident, Salma was approached by a cybernetics corporation that gave her an offer she could hardly refuse. Because they were interested in examining the use of her powers to cool cybernetics and prevent them from overheating during use, they would help reconstruct her damaged body in return for her allowing herself to be tested on a frequent basis.

She still visits the company frequently for testing, but is trying to work out things out so that she can move to London and start at Xavier’s in the next school year.
