Power: Energy absorption and redirection. James can absorb various types of energy and channel it into other effects, primarily flight, energy blasts, and low grade forcefield. The most common source is sunlight, it's a slow charge, but painless. He can get a fast charge off of something like jamming his finger into a light socket, but it's gonna hurt like hell. He doesn't know if he can absorb the energies generated by someone like Cyclops or Havok, and to be honest he's not that eager to find out.

Personality: Very friendly and outgoing. Loves to talk. Can be a bit of a hothead on occasion though. Being in the UK, he does his level best to not ACT like a tourist.

Description: Around 5'7", 180lbs, with an athletic build. Head of thick brown hair and the beginings of a decent beard coming in. When around the dorms, he's likely to be seen in a flannel shirt and jeans, but out in public he likes to be well dressed. Don't be shocked to see him around in a shirt and tie, with a pair of braces. Alternates between wearing glasses and contacts, depending on if he feels like going to the hassle of putting the contacts in that day.

Background: James comes from a fairly well off Baltimore family. Fairly well adjusted and has a good relationship with his parents, (Though, while not especially religious, are fairly conservative. They actually had more trouble dealing with him being gay than his being a mutant.)
He opted to come to Xavier's instead of a stateside school for a few reasons, large among them is their world class genetics program and it's very high profile in the mutant rights fight worldwide. While still officially undeclared, he's at the moment torn between perusing a degree in a genetic field, or something like political science.
