Feb. 24 - The last stand of Genosha?

[Andre Jacquard]

"No ma'am, I have pretty good range," Andre responded.

[Jubilation Lee]

"Good." Jubilee said "In that case, April here is going to get you out, and then come back to pick us up." She glanced up to the sky, gauging how long then had until the Sentinels arrived "We don't have long, so work fast."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan got ahead of the Sentinels, looping around to fire, then retreating back toward the middle of the city.

[Kyra Raphael]

Kyra kept doing damage to the Sentinels, but concentrated on getting them to follow her into position rather than ripping them up.

[Aiden Mitchell]

Aiden got the message as he smashed one sentinel into the side of a building. He flew off towards the sentinels and tried to draw their attention with some less effective gouts of flame before turning back towards the buildings loaded with explosives.

[Nick Varkan]

Nick pretty much followed the same strategy as Kyra, but with more unnecessary taunting.

[Kyra Raphael]

Kyra got another message "We've got 'em in position. Seraph, on your mark, we'll pull up and they'll blow everything."

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan nodded. "You two... get ahold of everyone and make sure they get pulled up," he told Kyra and Nick.

"MARK!"

[Kyra Raphael]

As soon as Ryan spoke, Kyra passed along the order to pull up NOW to everyone in the group, as she shot up like a rocket.

[Aiden Mitchell]

Aiden began gaining altitude as rapidly as he could after hearing Kyra's command.

[Nick Varkan]

Nick shot up after Kyra, glancing back every so often.

[Jubilation Lee]

"Everyone is clear." Jubilee reported "Time to rock it."

[Narrator]

The teleporters returned, very briefly, and grabbed all the demo crews and returned to the shore with them.

It was like a crack of thunder, like the earth itself was a loaded gun that some higher power fired. The middle of the northern district simply exploded, sending a raging inferno up into the sky. Metal shrieked, power cores exploded in what seemed like firecracker bursts by comparison.

There were, naturally, some straggling Sentinels, but with this bulk gone, they seemed like childs play to the Genoshan defenders. From the center of the Capital, a very tentative cheer started going up.

[Jubilation Lee]

Jubilee was not aware of any of this. The force of the explosion, and the strain of setting off a dozen large fireworks all at once knocked her out.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

Several of Jezabelle's duplicates stopped what they were doing and cried out in pain, the one acting as doctor to Cassiel and Exodus no exception. Several of her clones had been caught in the blast, the pain of their bodies being torn apart compounding on their puppet mistress' mind. Those not fighting against the remaining Sentinels were simply unable to function, a few even slumped over and began degrading into dust.

Cassiel seemed to expect this, though with all the beating he'd taken, he wasn't fast enough to act before his assistant was hurt. But he was still there, and better late than never, as they said. "Open your mind," he said, forcing his voice to her attention. "Just let me in, and I'll take it away," he said, his mind pushing into hers, acting as a pain baffle, routing the pain through his mind and away from hers.

[Jezabelle Sherlock]

The pain was quite extreme; someone who was blown up felt no more pain as they were dead. But Jezabelle was receiving the nerve signals of almost a dozen dying, splattered selves, her mind surviving where a normal persons would have been damaged beyond the ability to function. It felt as if one's entire body was being burnt and cut into tiny pieces but never destroyed, prolonging the suffering.

The clone next to Cassiel panted softly. Because of him Jez was able to recover somewhat, though between the blast itself and the resulting collapse of several of her duplicates she had lost over half of her forces.

[Ryan Gabriel]

Ryan arced around, tiredly, heading toward the center of the city where most of the forces were returning to. Wearily, he made his landing to wait for an extraction, to see what else needed to be done... anything.

[Daniel Uriel]

With things wrapped up in London and the cleanup starting, X-Corp relief had been sent to make sure things were being cleaned up in Genosha... and, really, to find out what the hell had started all this. It hadn't been hard for Daniel to weasel his way into the group that beamed in, and he immediately started looking around, taking in the ruin of his home with a cold feeling in the pit of his stomach.

[Kyra Raphael]

"I think its over." Kyra said quietly.

[Aiden Mitchell]

Aiden followed Ryan to the center of the city. Eventually coming in for a landing, and folding his wings to his sides.

"I believe you are correct," Aiden said sounding a bit tired.

[Kyra Raphael]

"I hope my family got out ok." Kyra said "Our house is flat, I saw that while we were flying here."

[Michael Asters]

"It is over," Cassiel said quietly, as the Accolytes from the lower district arrived behind the baricade, bearing a stretcher carrying a very still Magneto.

[Livia Raphael]

Looking older, and more vulnerable than Kyra had ever seen her, Livia walked up slowly "Kushiel, my child, I have some terrible news."

[Aiden Mitchell]

"One can only hope," Aiden said looking at the destruction around them.

[Kyra Raphael]

"Whats wrong, Grandmother?" Kyra asked, the blood draining from her face.

[Livia Raphael]

"During the evacuation, your parents, your sister Arachne and Penelope, my dear, dear co-wife...they were struck by a fragment of a Sentinel, just before they could teleport out."

[Kyra Raphael]

"No!" Kyra shouted "Its impossible! You would have known! You would have stopped it! This has to be a mistake!"

[Rick Ferguson]

Rick came to a landing near Ryan and Aiden.

"So...it worked?"

[Aiden Mitchell]

"As far as we can tell," Aiden said looking at Rick.

[Daniel Uriel]

"Of course she knew!" Daniel said, stepping protectively between Kyra and Livia. "Tell her! Tell her what you knew, you evil old hag!"

[Livia Raphael]

"Scion." Livia said, trying to cover her surprise "I thought you'd be in London." she laid a hand on Kyra's shoulder "I'm sorry child, but its true. There was so much to keep track of....and I'm not as young as I used to be."

[Gideon Rede]

Gideon came through in the second wave of support a rifle was slung over one shoulder as he walked towards Cassiel. He spotted Magneto on a stretcher and frowned.

No, he can't die.

[Kyra Raphael]

"How could you not know?" Kyra asked, sounding desperate "You must have seen something....."

[Daniel Uriel]

"She knew months ago," Daniel put in without further preamble. "Not sure how long, but at least around when she had that cow of an aunt of yours fuck my mind around when I left on that mission to Kryster."

[Michael Asters]

"Ferra, Fracture, get Lord Magneto to the royal court, I'm sending a healer and a doctor there now," Cassiel said, no small amount of concern in his voice... but his attention was completely divided. He didn't approach yet, but he was paying close attention to the exchange going on with his daughter, and Kyra would be able to catch a glimpse of him watching behind her grandmother.

[Andre Jacquard]

Andre sat down on the corner of a broken rooftop, sighing as he gazed at the smoking heap in the distance that used to contain his apartment.

[Julia White]

"I'm... sure they didn't get all the looms in the city." Crossfire says awkwardly as she steps up behind Andre.

[Andre Jacquard]

"Gee thanks, I hadn't even thought about that yet."

[Julia White]

"It's better than if you had been sitting at it at least."
