"Oh, it's not bad," he said. And as he said it, a glowing portal spread inside the doorway to the little bus stop station. "Easier if you close your eyes the first time," he added. "Then it doesn't seem as weird when everything around you changes."

He smirked a little as they approached. "There's no getting lost. Look." he stuck his hand through the portal. "And now my hand's in Hawaii. Hell, someone could get curious and walk through from the other side if we wait long enough." Although he DID hold onto her hand as he did this.

Paul grinned, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze... and with the next step, they found themselves walking out of a doorway into a little path between two buildings, in what seemed to be a fairly unused corridor off of a main street. It warm, not muggy at all, sunny, and the smell of the ocean assaulted them as they took their first breaths on that side. "Ahhh, that's more like it!" he said.

Haley made a few taps and put her phone in airplane mode, handing it to Paul.

"Well I'm not too pasty white right now, so I wouldn't scare too many people away if I really had to. Besides, you seem to enjoy the show," she winked.

He held up a 'hang on a second' finger as they passed a changing station, and walked into it, returning without her phone and with a couple rolled-up beach towels. "There we go. Now... let's see if this beach is all it's cracked up to be."

He found them a spot that looked promising and laid one of the towels out on the sand.
