When she was finally done (and as soon as they'd lotioned up the rest of themselves, too), since he was reluctant at all to stop her before she felt like it, he stood up, holding out his hand to help her up.

She grabbed his hand and hopped up cheerfully. "Race you to the water?" she grinned.

[Paul Valmont]

He smirked a little. "Nahhh... how about... All at the same time!" He lunged forward and slung her over his shoulder, then started running toward the water. Hope you don't like going in slowly...

[Haley Crusek]

Haley let out a playful shriek and laughed as they hurtled towards the water.

[Paul Valmont]

"Better hold your breath!" Paul saw what he was looking for, a nice dip in the sand. As he approached it, a shimmering surface seemed to form across it like a tidepool. He stopped short, then jumped in (no sense knocking your head on the edge of a portal, he had no idea how that would work and had no desire to find out), and they suddenly found themselves dropping down a short distance toward the ocean.

Haley laughed as the hopped through the portal and then frowned when she suddenly found herself falling towards the water...but stopping inches short of it. She lay, almost like she was floating on the surface, just on top of the water.

"damnit," she grumbled.

[Paul Valmont]

What the...? Paul felt around, but Haley wasn't anywhere. Confused, he swam up, breaking the surface and blinking as his face came up just inches from hers.

"Showoff," he chuckled, reaching up to grab her and drag her in.

[Haley Crusek]

"Wish I was," she smirked. "this was just reflex or some shit. I wanna go in the water. It's hot out!"

She seemed to resist efforts to go in--or at least her mind did, but finally with a little grunt, she splashed into the water with Paul.

"there we go,"

Paul caught her as she came in. "Definitely more like it," he said with a grin, leaning back and playfully dragging her back toward the shallower water.

[Haley Crusek]

"A girl could get used to this being carried around everywhere thing," she giggled. "Better be careful what you wish for."

[Paul Valmont]

"Guys don't accessorize, we just carry girls around to make us look better," he joked.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley giggled, "I can live with that."

"So. Was I worth the trip all the way out here?"

[Paul Valmont]

Paul smirked, turning around in the water and catching her around the waist. "I don't know," he said, as he scooped her in. "Are you?"

[Haley Crusek]

"I dunno," she smiled coyly...almost nervously even?

[Paul Valmont]

"Well, I guess we'll just have to see, then, won't we," he said, and for a second she could swear that he was moving in to kiss her, then he pulled her through the water again toward the shore.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley laughed as she surged through the water with him, and breathed a sigh of relief internally. She wasn't really sure she was ready to go that far with some new guy she barely knew, after all...

Finally, she wriggled out of his grasp and dove under the water swimming around him and giving him a little telekinetic swat on the butt underwater. No harder than a hand slap, really, but impressive given that it was underwater. She surfaced a few feet away, grinning, and slicking back her now thoroughly soaked hair.

He jerked his head around at the slap, then turned back to her with a mischievous look. "Y'know... sucks that I'm not a telekinetic," he said. "Guess to get you back, I'll just have to... improvise!" he said, surging through the water toward her at that last word.

Haley let out a playful shriek and launched herself sideways from his lunge, putting a bit of tk oomph into it, and putting quite a bit of distance once again between them.
