Mountain Lakes Camp - Arrival

Postby Ryan Gabriel » Sat May 05, 2012 11:49 pm

One of the things about flying everywhere? It didn't give you a heck of a lot of reason to learn to drive, or in this case drive anything bigger than a motorcycle. Thus, Ryan found himself riding in the oversized van instead of driving, and was the first one out, stretching as they got to their campsite. "Ah, there we go," he said, looking around. "Haven't been camping in ages."

The campsite was well-located, with a river nearby, which apparently ran to the lake a short ways away. It didn't appear to be a busy weekend, and other campsites were scattered farther apart to give people privacy. The forest was nearby, the opposite direction from the lake, and all in all it was a cozy little setting.

Victoria's car pulled up behind the bus, Victoria having elected to drive her own damn self (and whatever girl felt the urge to ride with her), with the back seat and trunk filled with gear.

Jason looked around as he got out.

"This place is nice!" he said enthusiastically, "Nothing like home... but still!"

Tommy exited the van as well, walking down to the lakeshore, and dipping his fingers experimentally.

Haley looked significantly less enthused than when she'd signed up. Her phone was already halfway dead from the drive up, she STILL had a pretty nasty bruise on her forehead, and now there was basically no cell service here in the damn woods.

The fact that Alex and Brigid seemed to be an item now had NOTHING to do with it, nope...

She sighed and hopped out of the truck, stretching and looking around.

"Seems pretty," she nodded approvingly.

Alex, for his part, was carrying two people's worth of it by... well, effectively being two people. "Hope someone's pitched a tent before, because I sure haven't," he mused.

Colin tilted his head and took a breath, "Oh..you know my sister." he said smiling.

"Something tells me you didn't need much convincing either. She'd be out here too, depending on the mood she's in and even then there's no telling if there'd be a huge generator and air mattress or not."

Brigid for her part seemed to be in her element, and was helping Alex unpack and set up camp, oblivious to any death-glares.

Tommy did his best to set up his tent, but it was pretty clear camping wasn't his thing.
